A fast-food restaurant located near Rafaela, Argentina, has apologized and eliminated certain contentious menu items subsequent to receiving strong criticism from the local Jewish community. The eatery Honky Donky incited outcry and sparked calls for action by naming dishes after Adolf Hitler and Anne Frank.

In controversy were the “Ana Frank burger” and the “Adolf fries.” While the “Adolf fries” included green onions, bacon, and cheddar cheese on top, the “Ana Frank burger” had ground beef, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and mayonnaise. Shock and horror greeted the decision to name menu items after Adolf Hitler, the Nazi dictator responsible for the genocide, and Anne Frank, a Jewish teen who documented her experiences during the Holocaust.

The local Jewish community association, Comunidad Judía de Rafaela, expressed their “repulsion and indignation” in a Facebook message, denouncing the restaurant’s behavior. In response to the insulting menu items, the organization also hinted that it would file a lawsuit.

One of the board of directors for the Jewish community, Ariel Rosenthal, disclosed that he had first gone to the restaurant in March to ask for the titles of the meals to be changed. He tried his best, but nothing changed, and the inflammatory menu items stayed on the menu.

In response to criticism and mounting public indignation, Honky Donky formally apologized on social media. Furthermore, they took the “Adolf” fries off the menu. The “Ana Frank” burger was renamed in honor of King Henry VIII of England’s second wife, Anne Boleyn. The management of the restaurant apologized for the original insensitivity of their menu selections and acknowledged the hurt and outrage they had caused to people in the community.

Honky Donky revealed intentions to add new menu items named after inspirational people in an effort to make amends and foster a more positive image. The Dalai Lama, Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King Jr., and Mahatma Gandhi are some of these individuals. The restaurant has shown that it understands the value of cultural sensitivity and the necessity to pay tribute to those who perished during the Holocaust by making an attempt to proceed in a more polite and thoughtful manner.

    1. Maybe old and maybe not on top of his game, but Biden has the country in much better shape than the one Trump left it in.
Biden may not be my cup of tea, but BECAUSE I am informed and pay attention to facts and data and not to lies, braggadocio and nonsense, I will support Biden until either party can offer a better alternative.

  2. There are many clueless people out there, Trump loss the election by millions of vote but still some claim he won, our country is full of stupid people
