Veteran actor Eric Braeden, best known for his role in The Young and the Restless, didn’t hold back during a fiery interview with CNN about the California wildfires. Braeden, 83, evacuated his home in the face of advancing flames and criticized President-elect Donald Trump’s response to the ongoing disaster.

The actor first shared the harrowing moment on Instagram. In a video showing a wall of fire descending on his Altadena home, Braeden narrated with visible frustration:
“Well, we’re going to have to evacuate our house. You see this beautiful area go up in flames. Unbelievable.”

Hours later, he appeared on CNN Tonight with Laura Coates to discuss the ordeal. Reflecting on decades of living in the fire-prone region, Braeden admitted, “It scared the living daylights out of me. I’ve seen many fires, but this was different.”

Braeden used the platform to lambast Trump, indirectly referring to him as the “orange idiot.” Without naming Trump directly, the actor criticized his claims about California’s wildfire management and water policies.

“California is one of the most productive states in the nation,” he said. “Not according to the orange idiot taking over on January 20, but it’s true.”

Trump has repeatedly blamed California Governor Gavin Newsom for the wildfire crisis, demanding his resignation and accusing him of mismanaging water resources. A spokesperson for Newsom dismissed the accusations as “pure fiction” and “political posturing.”

Braeden echoed this sentiment, adding, “What’s being said on some networks and podcasts is outrageous. It’s damaging to this nation.”

Drawing on his upbringing in post-World War II Germany, Braeden offered a sobering perspective:
“This is a great nation. Trust me, I know. I grew up in ruins caused by fascist ideology. The essence of fascism is simplifying complex problems and feeding people nonsense. We are dangerously close to that.”

Braeden acknowledged the efforts of firefighters and emergency personnel, emphasizing the need for constructive leadership during such crises. “People are doing their damn best,” he said. “We need less divisive rhetoric and more solutions.”

The flames that forced Braeden to flee also consumed a palatial home in Altadena, as seen in dramatic images capturing the destruction. The disaster serves as a grim reminder of the worsening climate crisis and the political challenges tied to addressing it.

Braeden’s candid interview underscores the growing frustration among Californians facing wildfires—and the political firestorms that accompany them.

    1. Senile old fool doesn’t know enough to blame incompetent Gov. Newsom… and Jokementia Bribery… not out of office Trump! Those fools spend all their money on ILLEGALS instead of fire prevention!

  1. I share his opinions about the Orange Menace. On the other hand, Californians also need to start acknowledging that climate change may force them to change the way they build, manage forests and create a better balance between their life style and the unfortunate realities they are forced to deal with. Forest Fires are part of the renewal cycles , so maybe living in a very dry land surrounded by a very overgrown lush environment , there is a price to pay.
Take it from a Floridian, nothing is never perfect or free from disasters

  2. Sent from my iPhone ass sorry about his house but if ANYONE he should blast its NEWSCUM  not ny President who has 10 days left before hud inauguration

  3. What idiicy, and it’s all Trump’s fault. And no, it’s not climate change that caused these fires and it was lackl of vegetation management and fire preparedness that made it so bad. But Californians voted these clowns in.

  4. DEMONS can blind people. Demons can twist minds. Demons can alter people\’s perceptions. Demons can possess people. STUPIDITY is a choice. Refusal to open one\’s mind to FACTS because one has no problems living thanks to one\’s wealth, shows one\’s disdain for REALITY. Then when one decides to blame another for the sins of his own party for political views, then that one shows his UNADULTERATED STUPIDITY, which can only be DEMONIC. Too many facts are being overseen, not believed, and mixed with facts that have nothing to do with reality at hand. California is maybe the 10th biggest economy in the world, bigger than many countries, but it has nothing to do with how that wealth is managed. Yes California is also the most corrupt state in the union. It is a \” family affair\” and a partisan game all players take huge pieces of. That actor is just another stupid professional LIAR who believes his money gives him the right to tell us how to think. EFFING IDIOT. NO COMMON SENSE. DEMON RAT.
