It was supposed to be a show of power. Instead, it became a meme.

President Donald Trump, 79, appeared to doze off during a marathon Cabinet meeting Tuesday — just moments after declaring himself “sharper than I was 25 years ago.” Cameras caught the president repeatedly nodding off while his top officials praised him, igniting fresh debate about his stamina as the oldest president in U.S. history.

“DOZY DON IS BACK!” California Gov. Gavin Newsom wrote on X, posting a clip of the president’s head bobbing as Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke about “the most transformational year in foreign policy since World War II.”

According to The Washington Post, Trump’s eyes were closed for nearly six full minutes across the two-and-a-half-hour meeting.

The president began the meeting defiant, railing against the “fake news” coverage of his health.

“You’d think they’d say, ‘Well, Trump’s done a great job on the border,’” he told reporters. “But you always find something new. Like, ‘Is he in good health?’ Biden was great, but is Trump in good health?”

Between jokes, Trump appeared distracted — and increasingly weary. Staffers say he had been awake late into the night posting over 160 times on Truth Social.

“Honestly, he looked exhausted,” one senior aide told Politico on background. “When Rubio started his presentation, the president leaned back, crossed his arms, and his chin dropped. We thought he might just be closing his eyes — until he didn’t open them for a good thirty seconds.”

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, already under fire for his handling of a controversial naval strike in the Caribbean, seemed unaware that his boss had fallen asleep mid-briefing.

“Admiral Bradley made the correct decision to ultimately sink the boat and eliminate the threat,” Hegseth said of the September 2 attack. “It was the right call. We have his back.”

Photos show Trump slumped forward, eyes closed, as Hegseth defended the strike that killed at least four suspected smugglers — and possibly unarmed survivors.

A former Pentagon official told Reuters, “If this were Biden, Fox News would have had a countdown clock to his next nap.”

Adding to the speculation, photographers spotted two Band-Aids on the president’s right hand — a hand that has long raised questions due to visible bruising.

The White House previously attributed the discoloration to chronic venous insufficiency, a condition common in people over 70. Officials maintain it’s “benign.”

But the visible bandages — paired with Trump’s apparent fatigue — renewed scrutiny over the president’s health.

“Every few months there’s a new excuse,” said Dr. Elena Ruiz, a New York cardiologist not connected to the president’s care. “Whether it’s swelling, bruising, or falling asleep at meetings — these are warning signs, not punchlines.”

Hours after the story broke, Trump lashed out on Truth Social.

“ANOTHER FAKE HIT PIECE,” he wrote. “Trump is sharp, but THEY’RE not. Tremendous meeting. Tremendous energy. The FAKE NEWS doesn’t want to show the success.”

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt rushed to defend him, insisting he was “listening attentively and running the entire three-hour marathon Cabinet meeting.”

“Watch his final answer,” she told The Daily Beast. “He tore into the America-Last Democrats for letting radical Somali migrants invade our country and steal from taxpayers.”

But Democratic strategist Angela Rye countered that defense, saying, “If Trump were ‘sharp,’ he’d be focused on governing — not dozing off mid-briefing while the world burns.”

Trump’s nap comes amid reports he has scaled back his second-term workload and relies more heavily on Cabinet secretaries like Rubio and Hegseth.

“He’s an aging strongman who refuses to admit fatigue,” said historian Douglas Brinkley. “It’s the classic late-stage presidency — all loyalty tests, fewer hours, and lots of camera angles he doesn’t want to see.”

For now, the White House insists the president’s health is “excellent.” But as the videos of “Dozy Don” continue to circulate — often set to lullaby music — the question remains:

If Trump is truly as sharp as ever, why does he keep falling asleep on the job?

  1. I don’t recall these same reporters during President Autopen 2021-2024, reporting on Autopen sleeping on beach all day everyday. It’s all in the details.
Criminal illegals brought into USA by the millions.
Free: phones, social security cards, government benefits, food, rent, debt cards that reload, healthcare, clothes, get out of jail cards, vehicles, travel expenses, homes, vision, dental and more.
We’re was President Autopen when government employees were stealing millions for democrats NGO’s (democrats in disguise), weaponized government, DEI (Democrat Elites Idiots), fraud, abuse, corruption, bribery, theft, bias, riots, Antifa, history destruction, murders, rapes, looting, attacking opponents, assassination attempts, green new scam, lies, coverups and more?
So go after President Trump for working so hard for the American people? Democrats have done everything to show the American people that they don’t care about us, they sure made sure illegals were taking care of off the backs of Americans. President Trump has accomplished more in less than a year then any other President over the last 20+ years. He shows he is working for us not us working for him. Democrats think we work for them and owe them. Just what has the swamp creatures done for the American people over that time? Zero, zilch and nothing. Really reporters really should think twice about bias because it doesn’t sit well with Americans. You can’t coverup for one group and keep attacking another without more and more Americans witnessing your bias.
