Epstein’s Chilling Prediction About Trump is Coming True, Says Michael Wolff

In a stunning revelation that has reignited old fears about Donald Trump’s return to power, author Michael Wolff claims that Jeffrey Epstein once warned him about exactly how Trump would wield one of the presidency’s most dangerous privileges — and that prediction is now coming true.

Speaking on the Inside Trump’s Head podcast, Wolff said the late financier and convicted sex trafficker repeatedly mused about Trump’s “obsession with control,” long before either man’s scandals fully unfolded. “Jeffrey Epstein had a kind of riff about this,” Wolff recalled. “He’d say, ‘Trump loves having this kind of thing — the ability to show he’s the one in charge.’ He told me that if Trump ever got the power to pardon, he’d use it like a toy.”

Epstein, who died in federal custody in 2019, allegedly believed Trump would treat presidential pardons “in a childlike way,” using them not to serve justice but to cement loyalty.

Now, as Trump’s second term accelerates into 2025, Wolff says that prophecy feels painfully real. The president began his new term by issuing mass pardons to more than 1,500 people involved in the January 6 Capitol riot—many of whom were convicted of violent offenses. Since then, he’s reportedly handed out “unfathomable” clemencies to major allies, donors, and convicted criminals who have the means to buy influence.

On Monday, Trump made headlines again when he granted clemency to former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández, a man the Justice Department once described as “one of the most violent narco-politicians in the hemisphere.” Hernández had been sentenced to 45 years in prison for helping smuggle over 400 tons of cocaine into the United States.

“This isn’t some white-collar accounting scam,” Wolff said. “This is a convicted drug trafficker — and the same administration that boasts about stopping drugs at the border just pardoned him.”

According to Trump, however, the decision was based on “many people of Honduras” telling him that Hernández was a “Biden setup.”

Wolff said Epstein’s insight into Trump’s psyche was unusually sharp. “He liked the leverage,” Epstein reportedly told Wolff. “The moment someone owes him, he owns them.”

That attitude, Wolff argues, now defines the Trump pardon system — an opaque, transactional web where money and access mean everything. “Getting a pardon means knowing someone who knows someone who can reach Trump,” Wolff said. “And yes, there’s always money that moves along the line. There are no free pardons here.”

In October, Trump pardoned crypto billionaire Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, whose company Binance allegedly funneled funds into Trump-related ventures and hired powerful lobbyists to push for clemency.

“This is not a justice system,” podcast co-host Joanna Coles said. “This is a loyalty market.”

The White House responded to Wolff’s claims with trademark fury. Communications Director Steven Cheung lashed out in a statement, calling the journalist “a lying sack of s–t” and accusing him of “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

Press Secretary Abigail Jackson piled on, taking aim at Wolff’s past ties to Epstein: “Why isn’t anyone asking why Michael Wolff was corresponding with Epstein in the first place?”

Despite the denials, Wolff insists that Epstein’s words should serve as a warning. “He said Trump would find joy in the act of pardon — not in mercy, but in dominance,” Wolff told listeners. “And now, we’re watching it unfold.”

Legal experts warn that Trump’s sweeping clemencies could erode the last vestiges of accountability around the presidency. “The pardon power was meant to be an instrument of compassion,” said Georgetown law professor Elaine Grant. “Under Trump, it’s morphing into a weapon of political reward.”

As Epstein’s prediction echoes from beyond the grave, Wolff says Americans should take note. “It’s not about who Trump pardons,” he said. “It’s about the system of obedience he’s building — one signature at a time.”
