Shane Lowry just couldn’t hold it together at the PGA Championship — and the crowd got a front-row seat to his meltdown.

The 38-year-old Irish golfer lost his cool during Friday’s round at Quail Hollow in North Carolina, when his tee shot on the eighth hole landed smack in a divot. Officials told him to play it as it lay, and that’s when things got ugly.

After smacking the ball and taking out a chunk of the turf, Lowry exploded in frustration, yelling “F— this place!” before flipping off the ball in front of stunned spectators.

Despite the drama, Lowry — currently ranked No. 10 in the world — managed to bounce back, saving par on the next three holes, according to People.

This isn’t Lowry’s first fiery outburst on the green. At the 2023 Players Championship, Golf Digest reported he snapped a club after mimicking a noose around his neck in sheer frustration.

And he wasn’t the only one with a temper on Friday. Fellow golfer Tyrrell Hatton also let his emotions fly, with the BBC reporting that he was overheard cursing at his club during the round.

The PGA drama is heating up — and not just on the scorecard.
