In a shocking legal move, right-wing media personality Ashley St. Clair has filed for sole custody of her infant son, claiming that billionaire Elon Musk has all but abandoned his parental duties. The petition, filed in New York’s Supreme Court on Friday, accuses Musk of being an absentee father and includes damning text messages allegedly sent by the Tesla and SpaceX CEO.
Explosive Text Messages Surface
One of the most sensational revelations in the filing is a series of text messages in which Musk reportedly acknowledged paternity. In one exchange, he allegedly wrote, “I want to knock you up again.” Another message reveals Musk’s concern for security, stating, “If I make a mistake on security, [R.S.C.] will never know his father.”
St. Clair, 26, who built a career as a far-right commentator, included screenshots of these messages in her petition. The filing argues that Musk’s behavior demonstrates a lack of commitment to his child and an unwillingness to take an active parental role.
A Billionaire Father, An Absent Presence
According to court documents, Musk was not present for his son’s birth in September 2024 and has only spent a total of three and a half hours with the child. The last time Musk saw his son, identified as “R.S.C.” in legal documents, was on November 30, 2024—spending a mere 30 minutes with him.
St. Clair asserts that Musk’s absence extends beyond physical presence. She claims he has provided no direct financial or emotional support and has not participated in any aspect of the child’s care.
“Musk has had no involvement in his care and upbringing,” the legal filing states.
A Relationship in the Shadows
The court documents also shed light on St. Clair’s relationship with Musk. According to her, they became romantically involved in May 2023, and their child was conceived in January 2024. Their relationship, however, remained largely private—raising questions about how deeply Musk was ever invested in their personal and family life.
St. Clair’s legal team contends that she made multiple attempts to resolve custody issues privately before resorting to court action. Her representative, Brian Glickich, stated, “Ashley has made every effort to collaborate with Mr. Musk before taking this step. She has no further comment on the contents of the petition, which speak for themselves.”
Musk’s Silence, But Not Inactivity
Musk, who is currently at the forefront of a push to drastically slash the federal workforce, has yet to directly address St. Clair’s accusations. However, he has taken to X (formerly Twitter) to post cryptic messages that some believe are veiled responses to the controversy.
Musk’s attorney has not responded to requests for comment.
At 53, Musk has fathered at least 12 children with multiple women, including musician Grimes and Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis. Despite his public image as a tech visionary, his expanding list of custody disputes paints a different picture—one of a billionaire whose empire continues to grow while his family life remains tumultuous.
The court battle over baby R.S.C. is just beginning, but one thing is clear: St. Clair is prepared to fight for sole legal control, and Musk’s reputation as a father is once again under scrutiny.
