Controversial “Jeopardy!” host Mayim Bialik once again found herself in hot water as fans of the popular quiz show accused her of applying inconsistent rules during Wednesday’s game. The incident occurred during the Double “Jeopardy!” round when contestants encountered the “Presidential Doin’s” category, leading to a moment of confusion and frustration.

The clue read, “Made Henry Clay Secretary of State; 2 years after the White House, settled into a new House (of Representatives).” Contestant Kyle Marshall buzzed in with the answer, “Who is Adams?” Bialik, seeking more specificity, inquired, “More specific?” to which Marshall promptly clarified, “Who is John Adams.” Surprisingly, Bialik declared the answer incorrect.

Seizing the opportunity, returning champion Ilhana Redzovic swooped in and stole the question, confidently stating that the answer was John Quincy Adams, the sixth president of the United States.

Fans took to Twitter, expressing their dismay and calling out what they perceived as Bialik’s inconsistent treatment of answers. They pointed out that she did not ask for more information when Marshall simply answered “Harrison” for a previous question about William Henry Harrison, who had a short-lived presidency due to illness.

“Why did Mayim ask for clarification on ‘Adams’ but not on ‘Harrison’?” one viewer questioned, highlighting the inconsistency. Another fan chimed in, stating, “If there exists a coherent principle explaining why the #Jeopardy judges did not give a ‘be more specific’ prompt to ‘Harrison’ but they did to ‘Adams,’ in the same category, I have no idea what that principle might be.”

Some viewers used the opportunity to criticize Bialik’s hosting style and suitability for the show. “Mayim Bialik is not a suitable fit to host this show. She is devoid of personality and boring to watch,” one disgruntled fan declared.

Another expressed their disappointment, saying, “The gap between the incomparable #kenjennings and the malfunctioning robot that is Mayim Bialik is wider than the Grand f – – kin Canyon. I’m gonna watch Alex [Trebek] reruns on Netflix until Ken returns as host.”

This incident adds to a growing list of rulings that have triggered viewer backlash. In March, fans criticized Jeopardy! producer and guest host Ken Jennings for not awarding points to a contestant who correctly answered but mispronounced the response.

As the controversy unfolds, it remains to be seen how the show’s producers and Bialik herself will address the concerns raised by the passionate Jeopardy! viewers. The iconic game show, known for its integrity and strict adherence to rules, has always been held to high standards, and fans expect nothing less than consistency and fairness in each episode.
