Barron Trump may be trying to step into the business world, but the internet had other plans.
As the 20-year-old son of President Donald Trump moves forward with a new beverage brand, online attention has swerved away from his latest venture and straight into a messy storm of social media speculation about his appearance. Instead of focusing on the product launch, critics and commenters have zeroed in on viral clips and side-by-side images, fueling yet another round of Trump-family discourse online.
The latest chatter appears to have been sparked by a video circulating on social media that picked apart Barron’s changing appearance over the years. The clip, which was cited by the Irish Star, made a series of claims about his hair and overall look, suggesting he appeared dramatically different from earlier public appearances.
Among the more sensational allegations, the video claimed Barron’s hairstyle change may have made him look older and more severe, while also pushing unverified theories about his hairline. It even tried to connect those rumors to his father, with commenters and online critics dragging Donald Trump’s famously scrutinized hair history into the conversation.

To be clear, none of the claims made in the viral video have been independently verified, and there has been no medical or official confirmation to support the speculation. Still, that did not stop social media from doing what it does best: piling on.
Some users brushed off the entire debate as ridiculous, with one person writing, “Who cares?” Others suggested stress or normal aging could explain any perceived changes in Barron’s appearance. A few pointed out that hair color shifts are common as blond children get older, while others mocked the entire obsession as another bizarre example of the internet turning someone’s face into a public referendum.
But Barron’s appearance was not the only thing drawing backlash.
The college student is also facing criticism over his reported involvement in a new beverage company, Sollos Yerba Mate, which is preparing for a May 2026 launch. Barron is listed as one of the directors of the brand, which is centered around yerba mate, the caffeinated herbal drink with deep roots in South American culture.
The company recently posted a factory video on Instagram showing cans being filled and packaged, teasing the upcoming release with the caption: “One step closer to launch. The perfect summer drink.”
That post quickly turned into a magnet for criticism.
Commenters accused the brand of cultural appropriation and mocked what they saw as a MAGA-flavored attempt to repackage a product with longstanding Latin American roots. One critic called it “the official drink of MAGA frat boys,” while others took aim at the irony of a Trump-connected venture profiting from a product tied to immigrant and multicultural traditions.
In the end, Barron’s business debut is already being overshadowed by the same thing that follows nearly every member of the Trump family into public life: nonstop controversy, relentless online scrutiny, and a comment section ready to turn anything into political theater.
