A full-on personality clash appears to be erupting inside the halls of Trump-era Fox News, where late-night host Greg Gutfeld has launched a series of stunning, profanity-laced attacks on fellow network star Jesse Watters — calling him “an a——” with “the most punchable face” in America.

Though the remarks were delivered with a grin, sources tell us the feud is no joke.

During a recent taping of Gutfeld!, the sharp-tongued host took a swipe at Watters while reminiscing about their early days working on rival Fox programs. “We used to just hate on him,” Gutfeld said with a chuckle. “We used to say he has the most punchable face. And then I end up working with him, and — yep — he’s still an a——.”

The audience roared with laughter. But insiders at the network say Gutfeld meant every word.

The moment may have seemed like light-hearted banter to viewers. But behind the curtain at Fox News — now more pro-Trump than ever with the former president back in the White House — rivalries are reportedly hitting a breaking point.

“This isn’t just playful teasing. It’s about ego, ratings, and who gets to be the face of conservative America in the post-Tucker era,” a network source told us. “Greg is riding high in the ratings, and Jesse knows it.”

Indeed, Gutfeld! continues to pull in more than 4 million viewers a night, dominating late-night television — even outpacing Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert. But that success hasn’t earned Gutfeld many friends inside Fox HQ.

“He’s a diva, plain and simple,” said one insider. “Arrogant, abrasive, and completely full of himself. Most of us avoid him in the hallway.”

The on-air jabs aren’t isolated. Last week, Gutfeld shared behind-the-scenes video on Instagram mocking Watters, who was quietly eating a salad. “Look at this wimp,” Gutfeld said, filming his cohost. “A loser. A nobody.” Watters didn’t respond — at least not publicly.

But the trolling continued. Gutfeld even joked that network execs once tried to fire Watters, adding, “Too bad it didn’t stick.”

Watters, who recently took over the 8 p.m. time slot once ruled by Tucker Carlson, has stayed quiet — for now. But allies say he’s had enough of Gutfeld’s bullying. “Jesse’s biting his tongue,” one colleague said. “But there’s only so long you can let someone call you ‘punchable’ before swinging back.”

The escalating drama comes as Fox News faces increasing internal pressure during President Trump’s second term. With loyalty tests becoming more common across right-wing media, some staffers describe the atmosphere as “toxic” and “cutthroat.”

“Everyone’s scrambling to be Trump’s favorite,” said a former Fox producer. “The competition between hosts has never been nastier. Gutfeld thinks he’s the king of anti-woke comedy. Jesse wants to be the next Hannity. And there’s not enough spotlight for both.”

Despite his ratings success, Gutfeld’s relationships at the network are reportedly deteriorating.

“No one invites him to drinks. He’s mocked behind his back. He’s like the villain in a soap opera,” one staffer claimed. “Sure, he gets the viewers. But most of us are counting the days until he flames out.”

That may not be anytime soon. Sources say Gutfeld has strong backing from top Fox brass, who see him as a younger, edgier counter to liberal late-night — especially valuable during the chaos of Trump’s return to power.

Still, the drama is far from over. “This isn’t just some roast between coworkers,” another insider said. “This is a real fight for dominance inside a network that’s reshaping itself to mirror Trump’s America — louder, meaner, and less forgiving than ever.”

And as one veteran Fox employee summed it up: “When Greg starts calling you a nobody on Instagram, you know something’s about to explode.”

  1. I used to watch this guy, and felt he was okay, but I like Jesse W. a lot more. Also while watching last night, I felt Gutfield became too vulgar and nasty. I also miss Kat and Cyrus. I don’t care for some of his new ones! He needs to watch, because we don’t need another Jimmy Kimmel.

  2. Gutfeld is a jerk of the 1st degree. Saw this coming for some time. I can no longer tolerate him, but I still watch for the guests. Everyone on his shows are constantly genuflecting to him.
