Donald Trump’s Diva Hair Secrets Revealed

President Donald Trump’s famous hair apparently requires more than a comb and a can of hairspray.

Longtime Trump biographer Michael Wolff claims the 80-year-old president travels with a special “hair kit” designed to keep his signature blond look in place — including small patches of hair in different shades that can allegedly be used when needed.

Wolff made the eyebrow-raising claim on the “Inside Trump’s Head” podcast, saying someone traveling with Trump has carried the emergency kit during his years in politics.

“He has somebody who’s following, and there have been a couple of people over — certainly over the political years — who’ve carried the patch kit,” Wolff said.

According to Wolff, the small tufts are matched to whatever shade Trump’s hair happens to be at the time and are supposedly attached using some type of paste.

Wolff, who has written four books about Trump, claimed the president still handles much of his own hair routine despite having the backup kit nearby.

“He has what are called patches, and they call it the patch kit,” Wolff said.

He described the kit as containing “small tufts of hair” that can allegedly be applied whenever necessary, calling maintenance of Trump’s famous hairstyle a “major enterprise.”

The White House did not respond to the Daily Beast’s request for comment about Wolff’s allegations.

It is also unclear who, if anyone, currently carries the alleged kit. Trump’s longtime personal aide Natalie Harp is frequently seen traveling with him, but there is no confirmation that she has anything to do with his hair routine.

Wolff claims Trump’s elaborate hair maintenance goes back years.

In his 2018 book “Fire and Fury,” Wolff wrote about Trump’s daughter Ivanka allegedly describing the complicated process behind her father’s unmistakable hairstyle.

According to Wolff, the hair must be teased, pulled and fluffed into place until the familiar shape is created.

Podcast co-host Joanna Coles jokingly compared the finished product to cotton candy.

Trump’s hair has generated renewed attention recently after its color and appearance seemed to change during several public appearances.

But the president himself has long insisted one thing is certain — it is not a wig.

During remarks this week, Trump once again recalled a windy 2024 campaign rally in Ohio that he said proved his hair was real.

“You know, for years, I had to suffer with people saying, ‘He wears a wig,’” Trump said. “I don’t wear a wig.”

Trump said the wind was so intense that any wig would have been blown straight off his head.

However, footage from the rally shows Trump wearing a red baseball cap during the speech.

Trump has also repeatedly discussed the importance of strong shower water pressure when talking about his hair.

In April 2025, Trump signed an executive order targeting federal showerhead regulations, and his administration later moved to roll back additional water-pressure and efficiency rules.

Whether the mysterious “patch kit” really exists remains unconfirmed.

But according to Wolff, keeping Trump’s famous blond hair camera-ready has been a serious operation for years.
