Eric Trump Reveals Brutal ‘Old-School’ Childhood with Ivana

Eric Trump is pulling back the curtain on his famously wealthy upbringing — and according to him, life inside the Trump family was far from soft.

The president’s 42-year-old son revealed that his late mother, Ivana Trump, physically disciplined him and his siblings “extremely frequently,” describing a childhood filled with strict rules, slaps, spankings and some eyebrow-raising parenting decisions.

In his book Under Siege, Eric recalls growing up alongside Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump under Ivana’s watch, describing their childhood as “unique.”

And despite being raised in one of America’s richest and most famous families, Eric insists his mother made sure her children learned some lessons the hard way.

“If we didn’t have manners, you had two fake nails in your throat, and you felt the hand go back and forth across your face,” Eric previously told The Telegraph.

He called it “old-school discipline.”

“She spanked the hell out of us,” Eric said. “And, honestly, as un-PC as it is today, I can absolutely tell you it worked.”

The comments offer an unusually personal glimpse inside the Trump family, which has spent decades carefully cultivating an image of wealth, success and toughness.

According to Eric, Ivana was determined not to let her children become completely spoiled by the family fortune.

He claimed that while his mother sometimes flew business class, she made Eric and his siblings sit in economy.

He also said he was forced to wear his sister’s hand-me-downs.

But some of his memories were considerably more extreme.

Eric claimed Ivana once accidentally sliced part of his ear while attempting to give him a bowl haircut.

He also recalled that his mother was willing to skip major moments in her children’s lives if she had somewhere else she considered more exciting to be.

That apparently included Eric’s high school graduation.

“When I told her the date of my ceremony, she replied, ‘Eric, no fricking way. Sorry. Every moron graduates high school. I’m not missing Monte Carlo,’” Eric wrote.

According to Eric, Ivana chose the Monaco Grand Prix instead.

Eric Trump Recounts Horrifying Scene After His Mother’s Death

Ivana Trump died on July 14, 2022, at age 73 after being found inside her Manhattan home.

Authorities determined she died from blunt-impact injuries to her torso following a fall down a staircase.

Eric has described being among the first people at the scene, saying he arrived before paramedics and discovered his mother’s body in a pool of blood.

He later said he personally cleaned up the blood afterward.

Eric also revealed what he said were some of his mother’s final words to him.

During his eulogy for Ivana, he recalled her telling him she planned to live to 120 before adding, “Only the good die young.”

Following her death, President Donald Trump praised his ex-wife as a “wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman who led a great and inspirational life.”

“Her pride and joy were her three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric,” Trump said at the time. “She was so proud of them as we were all so proud of her. Rest In Peace, Ivana.”

Eric, Don Jr. and Ivanka also released a joint statement honoring their mother.

“Our mother was an incredible woman – a force in business, a world-class athlete, a radiant beauty, and a caring mother and friend,” they said.

“She taught her children about grit and toughness, compassion and determination.”

Trump Says He Barely Talks Business or Government With His Kids

Eric’s revelations come as his father continues to face scrutiny over the Trump family’s sprawling business interests, including its involvement in cryptocurrency.

President Trump recently claimed he does not speak much with his children about either government affairs or the businesses they oversee.

During an interview with Punchbowl News reporter Jake Sherman on Fly Out Day, Trump discussed crypto after Democratic lawmakers pushed efforts aimed at limiting potential conflicts involving the Trump family’s cryptocurrency ventures.

“I don’t run my stuff anyway. I let my kids run it, and I never talk to them about things,” Trump said.

“They’re not involved in government. I don’t talk to them about government. I don’t talk to them about much, other than to say, ‘I love you, kids.’”

The comments paint a striking contrast with Eric’s stories of childhood, when Ivana Trump apparently maintained an extraordinarily hands-on — and sometimes painfully literal — approach to keeping the future first family in line.
