Kid Rock says he has discovered a surprisingly simple way to get President Donald Trump on the phone: wait until late at night, crack open a few beers and give him a call.

The outspoken MAGA rocker, whose real name is Bob Ritchie, opened up about his unusual friendship with the president during a new Sky News Australia special, Trump’s America: 250 Years in the Making.

When host Paul Murray asked what it was like to have a close friend who is “running the world,” Kid Rock did not hold back.

“It’s f—ing awesome,” the 55-year-old singer replied.

Kid Rock said he regularly calls the 80-year-old president around 11 p.m. or midnight on Friday and Saturday nights while drinking with friends.

“You know, sitting around having some beers, it’s like 11, 12 on Friday or Saturday. I know he’s up,” Kid Rock explained. “He sleeps like me. He sleeps like five hours.”

According to the “All Summer Long” singer, Trump usually answers the phone — or calls him back later just to chat.

“I know when to get him, and he’s so gracious,” he said. “He always picks up, or he’ll call and check in just to shoot the s— most of the time.”

Kid Rock made it clear, however, that Trump is not asking him for advice on wars, foreign policy or other major presidential decisions.

“He’s not calling me to say, ‘Hey, what should we do in Iran, Bob?’” the singer joked. “I don’t get those calls.”

Instead, Kid Rock described their conversations as casual talks between friends, giving him what he called a “front-row seat” to life inside Trump’s orbit.

“I enjoy the hell out of hanging out with him and talking with him and just having a front-row seat to the greatest s— show on Earth,” he said.

The comment raised eyebrows because Kid Rock has been one of Trump’s most visible celebrity supporters for years. While he praised the president personally, he also appeared to acknowledge the nonstop drama surrounding the administration.

The pair’s friendship has included late-night phone calls, golf outings and high-profile appearances at the White House.

Kid Rock stood alongside Trump in the Oval Office in March 2025 as the president signed an executive order targeting fees and pricing practices in the live entertainment ticket industry.

The musician has also repeatedly used his fame to promote Trump and the broader MAGA movement.

Earlier this year, he performed in a Turning Point USA alternative halftime show designed to compete with the official Super Bowl halftime performance. The pre-recorded event was later mocked over its low viewership and accusations that Kid Rock had lip-synced.

He also drew backlash following a Memorial Day message filmed at the Pentagon and attracted criticism over stunts involving AH-64 Apache helicopters.

Kid Rock later teamed up with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for a Make America Healthy Again campaign.

Despite the controversies, the singer remains fiercely loyal to Trump.

“I know his heart and soul,” Kid Rock told Sky News. “His concern is for this country — period. This country first.”

He added that he believes leaders across the world should put their own nations first.

For Kid Rock, however, his relationship with Trump appears to be far less formal than politics, policy meetings and White House ceremonies.

Sometimes, it is simply two friends talking late at night — with one of them drinking beer and the other running the country.
