The Army is now investigating after Kid Rock proudly posted videos showing two military helicopters pulling off a startling low-altitude maneuver near his Tennessee estate, turning what looked like a training flight into yet another eyebrow-raising MAGA moment.

The 55-year-old rocker, a longtime Donald Trump ally, shared footage over the weekend of two AH-64 Apache helicopters hovering just beyond the edge of his pool at his sprawling home in Whites Creek, outside Nashville. Standing on the deck of what he calls his “Southern White House,” a scaled-down version of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Kid Rock saluted the aircraft and pumped his fist as the helicopters lingered nearby.

He then added fuel to the fire with a post taking a swipe at California Gov. Gavin Newsom, writing, “This is a level of respect that s–t for brains Governor of California will never know.” He ended the message by praising America’s military service members.

But while Kid Rock seemed thrilled by the flyby, Army officials were reportedly far less amused.

According to NewsChannel 5, leadership at Fort Campbell was caught off guard by the footage and quickly launched an investigation into what exactly happened. The same helicopters were also reportedly seen making a pass over the “No Kings” protest in downtown Nashville earlier that day, raising even more questions about why military aircraft were flying so close to a private celebrity residence and a political demonstration.

Maj. Jonathon Bless, a public affairs officer for the 101st Airborne Division, said Fort Campbell leaders are aware of the video and have opened a review into the circumstances surrounding the incident. He stressed that the division follows strict standards for aviation safety, professionalism, and compliance with flight rules, and said officials take concerns about aircraft operations in surrounding communities seriously.

In a later statement, Bless said the helicopters were in the Nashville area for training purposes and insisted that any connection to the “No Kings” rally was purely coincidental. He added that an administrative review is underway to determine whether the mission followed regulations and airspace requirements, and said appropriate action will be taken if any violations are discovered.

That explanation may not quiet critics, especially given how politically charged the entire scene looked. Kid Rock has spent years transforming himself from rock provocateur into one of Trump’s loudest celebrity cheerleaders. He has become a familiar MAGA presence in Washington, popping up alongside Republican power players and turning his public persona into a mix of culture-war bravado and White House access.

His Tennessee mansion only adds to the spectacle. The property, which he reportedly spent two decades creating, is a 27,000-square-foot White House replica packed with over-the-top features, including a gold urinal and a matching shower.

Now, instead of just being a strange monument to celebrity excess and right-wing cosplay, the estate is at the center of a military investigation.

What may have looked to Kid Rock like a patriotic flex is now shaping up as a serious question for the Army: why were combat helicopters hovering near a politically connected celebrity’s backyard in the first place?
