It sounds like something straight out of an action movie — but this terrifying rescue was all too real.

A Florida police officer is being hailed as a hero after bodycam video captured him pulling a woman from a burning vehicle moments after a violent crash sparked by an alleged carjacking.

The heart-stopping incident unfolded in Jacksonville on the night of February 8. According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, a suspect identified as Richard Younger allegedly used force to steal a vehicle — with a 1-year-old child still strapped in the back seat.

Police quickly tracked the stolen car and initiated a pursuit. That’s when things took a horrifying turn.

Authorities say Younger crashed into another vehicle during the chase, causing it to erupt in flames and trapping the female driver inside. Bodycam footage released Thursday shows thick smoke pouring from the wreck as fire engulfs the car.

Officer Almin Residovic didn’t hesitate.

In the dramatic video, Residovic rushes to the passenger side of the burning vehicle and yanks the woman to safety — even as her hair appears to be on fire. He immediately begins providing medical aid on the pavement while waiting for paramedics to arrive.

Meanwhile, other officers rescued the 1-year-old from the stolen vehicle. Miraculously, both the woman and the baby are expected to be okay, according to police.

There was also a 14-year-old who reportedly fled from the burning car. Officials have not released details about that teen’s condition.

Younger was taken into custody at the scene and booked into the county jail. He faces multiple charges, including carjacking, fleeing law enforcement, false imprisonment of a child, and leaving the scene of a crash without rendering aid.

The newly released bodycam footage is already spreading online, with many praising Officer Residovic’s quick thinking and bravery.

What could have ended in tragedy instead became a powerful reminder of how fast first responders must act — and how one split-second decision can mean the difference between life and death.
