Angelina Jolie may be preparing for her biggest life change yet.
Sources say the Oscar-winning actress is getting ready to say goodbye to Los Angeles — and possibly the United States altogether — once her twins, Knox and Vivienne, turn 18 this July. That milestone could finally clear the last hurdle that’s kept her rooted in California for years.
The 50-year-old Eternals star has hinted at this shift for a while. While attending the San Sebastian Film Festival, she admitted she still “loves” America but doesn’t “recognize” it the way she once did — a comment that immediately sparked buzz about her long-term plans.
Over the past few years, Jolie has spoken openly about seeing the U.S. as just one chapter in a much more global life. In a 2024 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she described Los Angeles not as a forever home, but simply as “a place where I raise my children.” She also reflected on how the “humanity” she’s experienced around the world feels different from what she grew up with in America.
That perspective appears to be guiding her next move.
For years, her custody arrangement with ex-husband Brad Pitt reportedly limited her ability to relocate far from Los Angeles. The former couple shares six children: Maddox, 24; Pax, 22; Zahara, 21; Shiloh, 19; and twins Knox and Vivienne, who turn 18 this summer.
Now that the youngest are about to reach adulthood, insiders say Jolie is quietly taking steps to make her exit. That reportedly includes preparing to sell her $24.5 million Los Feliz estate — the six-bedroom, 10-bathroom property she purchased in 2017 shortly after filing for divorce from Pitt.
At the time, she told Page Six she chose the home specifically because it was close to their dad. For years, it served as ground zero for custody negotiations and an intensely public divorce battle that was finalized in 2024.
But that chapter may be closing for good.
In a September 2025 interview with Variety, Jolie emphasized that she has “always lived internationally.” Friends say she has deep personal ties and support systems around the world — and she’s ready to lean into them.
If there’s a frontrunner for her next home base, it’s Cambodia.
Jolie has described the country as feeling like home “in my heart.” She first connected to Cambodia while filming Lara Croft: Tomb Raider in 2001 and adopted her eldest son, Maddox, there in 2002. She later directed the 2017 film They Killed My Father, a deeply personal project about the Cambodian genocide that she said was inspired by her love for the country and its people.
In interviews, she has revealed that she and Maddox frequently travel back and forth, sometimes spending months there at a time.
For now, Jolie hasn’t publicly confirmed an exact relocation plan. But with July approaching — and her twins stepping into adulthood — all signs point to a fresh start that could take Hollywood’s most famous humanitarian far from Hollywood itself.
One thing is clear: Angelina Jolie isn’t just thinking about change. She’s preparing to make it.
