President Donald Trump is furious over what insiders describe as a “coordinated media hit job” targeting his health and mental fitness — and he’s blaming the same outlets he once called “fake news” for trying to paint him as frail.

According to multiple sources close to the president, Trump has spent the past several days raging behind closed doors after a wave of headlines questioned whether the 79-year-old commander in chief is showing signs of slowing down.

“He’s been stewing about it non-stop,” one senior aide told Radar Online. “He’ll watch a clip on CNN or read a line in the Washington Post and start yelling about how they’re trying to turn him into ‘Sleepy Joe 2.0.’”

The controversy erupted after footage surfaced earlier this week showing Trump appearing to nod off during a Cabinet meeting. Within hours, major outlets ran with the story. AFP published an op-ed titled “Sleepy Don? Trump’s Health Under Fresh Scrutiny,” while the Daily Beast ran a headline calling him “the D.C. sequel nobody wanted to see.”

That coverage — and follow-ups from The New York Times, Washington Post, and CNN — reportedly infuriated Trump, who built much of his political brand around mocking his predecessor, Joe Biden, for what he portrayed as signs of senility.

“He is extremely sensitive to being compared to Biden,” another adviser confirmed. “Especially when the implication is that he’s no better.”

Recent reports have documented the president appearing tired or disoriented during public events. In September, Trump mistakenly misstated the start date of his first term while speaking beside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu — an error that drew quiet concern even from some allies.

Other photos have shown the president with makeup covering bruises on his right hand, which the White House attributed to “routine medical care.” Officials have declined to elaborate further, though Trump’s doctor released a statement in July diagnosing him with “chronic venous insufficiency,” a common circulation condition in older adults.

Sources told Zeteo the president occasionally drifts off during briefings, prompting aides to quietly shorten meetings or rearrange his schedule. “He hates looking weak, so they work around it,” one White House staffer said.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt blasted the reports as “pathetic media desperation,” insisting that Trump remains physically and mentally sharp.

“As the president’s physician, Dr. Sean Barbabella, has made clear — and as the American people see with their own eyes — President Trump remains in excellent overall health,” Leavitt said in a statement. “He’s tireless, focused, and performing at a level no one his age ever has in the Oval Office.”

She added: “The media covered up Joe Biden’s decline for years. Now they’re trying to project that onto President Trump because they can’t handle his success.”

For political historians, the battle over Trump’s health feels like déjà vu. In 2020, his critics circulated similar rumors after he appeared unsteady during a West Point commencement ceremony. Back then, Trump dismissed those claims as “Democrat hoaxes.”

This time, however, the scrutiny is hitting harder. “He’s older, the cameras are sharper, and people are watching every blink,” one former campaign staffer said. “He’s not taking it well.”

Despite the uproar, aides insist Trump remains fully engaged in governing — and, privately, determined to prove his doubters wrong.

“Every time they question his stamina,” said one ally, “he schedules another rally.”

  1. President Trump is still a very active and healthy person, doing an excellent job as US President, perhaps the greatest US President in my life time. David.
