Mary Trump, the outspoken niece of President Donald Trump, says she’s seen enough — and what she sees terrifies her.
In a tense and emotional interview on The Daily Beast Podcast, the 59-year-old psychologist accused her uncle of exhibiting the same mental decline that once overtook his father, Fred Trump Sr. “There are times I look at him and I see my grandfather,” she said. “I see that same look of confusion. He doesn’t always seem to know where he is. His short-term memory is slipping.”
Mary, who holds a Ph.D. in clinical psychology, stopped short of calling herself a neurologist but said the signs are unmistakable. “I know enough to recognize cognitive decline when I see it,” she said.
The Trump family’s struggle with dementia is no secret. Fred Trump Sr., the family patriarch, was diagnosed with “mild senile dementia” in 1991, later confirmed as Alzheimer’s disease. His decline, Mary recalled, began subtly — a forgotten name here, a confused look there — until it consumed him completely.
“By the time we were spending Easter at Mar-a-Lago to keep him away from the public, he didn’t know who I was,” she remembered. “He pointed at me and said, ‘Isn’t she a nice lady?’ and then asked my aunt, ‘And who are you?’”
That “deer in the headlights” expression, she said, is now hauntingly familiar when she watches her uncle on television or at press briefings.
Her cousin, Fred Trump III, echoed the warning last year in an interview with People. “If anyone wants to believe dementia doesn’t run in the Trump family, it’s just not true,” he said. “I’ve seen the same decline before, and I see it again.”
Mary’s description of how the future president handled his father’s illness was chilling. “He was despicable,” she said bluntly. “He treated my grandfather like he was an inconvenience. He would leave the room. He wanted nothing to do with him.”
Even as Fred Sr. continued to recognize his son, Donald remained emotionally detached, according to Mary. “He never forgot Donald, but Donald had no use for him once he stopped being useful.”
That coldness, she argued, has now turned inward — into a man grappling with his own fading sense of control.
Mary believes her uncle’s obsession with money and power has only intensified as he faces the limits of age and health. “This increasing obsession with wealth… it’s pathological,” she said. “He surrounds himself with billionaires — Musk, Zuckerberg, oil magnates — as if their money can make him immortal.”
She even pointed to his recent embrace of cryptocurrency and mega-donor investments as “the behavior of a man trying to buy time.”
But underneath, she said, lies fear. “He’s reckoning with the possibility that he’s not immortal after all. The act is slipping. He knows it, even if he can’t admit it.”
Mary said she often watches Trump’s live appearances — his Cabinet meetings, Fox interviews, or unscripted moments — and notices “the same blank stare” her grandfather had during his decline. “There’s a moment when he looks lost,” she explained. “Like he’s trying to remember where he is or why he’s there.”
To her, his verbal slips, forgotten names, and erratic speeches are not just political quirks but medical red flags. “We’re watching a deterioration unfold in real time,” she said.
Asked about the allegations, White House Communications Director Steven Cheung dismissed Mary Trump’s remarks as “a disgraceful smear from a bitter relative.” In a statement to The Daily Beast, he said, “Mary Trump is a stone-cold loser who doesn’t have a clue about anything.”
Still, Mary’s claims have reignited concerns about the president’s health, already the subject of speculation following several public gaffes and what aides have privately described as “increasing unpredictability.”
As the 2026 election season looms, the president’s physical and cognitive fitness could become a central issue — not just for his opponents, but for his own party.
“Donald Trump’s biggest fear,” Mary said, “is not losing an election. It’s losing himself.”

Evil jealous niece Mary born with lying Democrat Dementia…
You have Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Wh
This is the same Mary trashing President Trump all while being paid by Soros and others. Follow the money she is getting. Money will make even family members lie.
Mary Trump is an idiot….She’s so full of anger and hatred, and it shows.
Her dad was a DRUNK, and her grandfather didn’t want him running the company, so Donald was given the job. Sounds like the grandfather and the granddaughter didn’t get along. That’s between those two.
So where’s her “evidence” and her “proof”?
Spoiler: SHE DOESN’T HAVE ANY…
Heck, I even forget stuff and get a blank stare from time to time. That doesn’t mean a cognitive decline, just that I think in weird ways. But she wants to make a big deal out of nothing to keep her name in the public eye since her book crashed and burned.
This niece, Mary Trump, must be desperate for attention! Could it be, maybe, she is so jealous of President Trump‘s children
who are very successful and are in the
limelight so often?
I think her father‘s addiction to alcohol is the reason, today, President Trump never touches a drop of alcohol and never has.
I’ve seen no such evidence to support such claim?
Same old democratic clap- trap! Where were all these stories when Biden couldn’t find his way out of his own closet!!! lol follow the money and you’ll find why she says what she says.
BTW Nextgennews get better proof readers as DJT is not the future President and much as you hate it… Donald J Trump
IS THE PRESIDENT!!!
