‘The View’ Co-Host Whoopi Goldberg Addresses ‘Rude’ Behavior

Whoopi Goldberg just got real about her attitude — and she’s not apologizing for it.

During Thursday’s episode of The View, the longtime moderator, 69, admitted that she’s been “rude” in past interviews while reflecting on a viral moment involving Democratic gubernatorial candidate Katie Porter.

Porter, 51, sparked controversy this week after snapping at CBS reporter Julie Watts during a tense interview, threatening to walk out over repeated follow-up questions.

“We’ve all had bad days,” said conservative co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin, defending the journalist. “That was a fair question for her job. If you can’t answer those, you can’t be governor.”

That’s when Goldberg jumped in — and didn’t hold back.

“I have done this. I have been rude to people,” the Ghost star admitted. “I’ve said to journalists, ‘No, this is my answer,’ and they’ll say, ‘But I’ve asked other people.’ And I’ll say, ‘No, no, this is what I’m telling you.’ I’ve been rude, and that’s my point.”

As the conversation heated up, co-host Sara Haines chimed in that she expected “something different” from Porter. But Goldberg wasn’t budging.

“She’s just another human being,” the Sister Act actress replied. “I’m sorry, they’re all human beings.”

After a commercial break, Goldberg returned to the topic — and took aim at critics who accuse The View of being too partisan.

“Before anyone starts writing about how I only mentioned Republicans, I’ll say Nancy Pelosi’s been accused of yelling at people, as has Amy Klobuchar,” she said. “My point is, it’s not a good thing to do. Everybody seems to do it, and we’ve got to do better.”

But the Color Purple star ended the segment on a personal note, admitting she’s grown tired of how she’s portrayed in the media.

“Any time I say something, the press twists it to make it seem like I’m insane,” Goldberg said. “I take a lot of hits, and I don’t like it as much as I used to.”

Goldberg has been moderating The View since 2007, steering the daytime juggernaut through political feuds, on-air walkouts, and her own share of controversies.

Still, despite the backlash, Whoopi isn’t backing down — reminding viewers, once again, that she’s just “a human being” with an opinion.
