Pop breakout Chappell Roan took a dramatic pause during her concert at Pasadena’s Rose Bowl Stadium on Friday night to make her feelings about U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement crystal clear.
“F— ICE forever!” the 27-year-old singer shouted into the mic, drawing explosive cheers from the packed crowd.
Roan, who’s quickly become known for her unapologetic lyrics and outspoken views, didn’t hold back as she continued her U.S. mini-tour. She’s previously told fans she’s “not voting for” President Donald Trump — though she’s also admitted “there are problems on both sides.”
Meanwhile, Chance the Rapper made a similar statement across the country. During his Chicago show at the Huntington Bank Pavilion, an all-caps message blazed behind him: “F— ICE.” The rapper’s bold stance mirrors the lyrics from his August track “Drapetomania,” which calls out the government’s treatment of immigrants.
Both artists’ comments come amid heightened tension surrounding ICE operations nationwide. The agency launched “Operation Midway Blitz” in Chicago earlier this fall, sparking local anger and fresh protests. In Los Angeles, large-scale immigration raids this summer already drew thousands to the streets.
From L.A. to Chicago, musicians are turning their stages into platforms — and their lyrics into lightning rods — as public outrage over ICE’s actions continues to build across the country.
