President Donald Trump is planning to celebrate his 80th birthday in the most over-the-top way imaginable — by turning the White House into a UFC arena.
The bombshell announcement came Sunday during a raucous speech at Naval Station Norfolk, where Trump veered off script to promise “a huge UFC fight at the White House” next June. That’s June 14 — his own birthday — and, conveniently, the date he now claims will mark the start of America’s 250th anniversary celebrations.
“Right there on the grounds of the White House,” Trump bragged to cheering sailors, adding, “It’s going to be the biggest fight event in history.”
The idea — a full-scale cage fight on the South Lawn — is already sparking outrage and disbelief. Historians, lawmakers, and even some Republicans are calling it a “grotesque circus.”
“Hosting cage fights where the Obamas once held Easter egg rolls? It’s beyond parody,” said one former White House staffer who asked to remain anonymous. “But this is Trump — spectacle over substance, always.”
Sources inside the administration say the president has been obsessed with the idea since July, telling aides he wants “real American fighters, real blood, real fireworks — none of that boring D.C. crap.”
Adding to the chaos, retired UFC brawler Conor McGregor told Fox News host Sean Hannity last week that he’s already booked to fight at the White House event. “Done deal, signed, delivered,” McGregor boasted. “I will compete in the White House for America’s 250th birthday.”
The 37-year-old Irishman, who was found liable for sexual assault in a 2023 civil case, hasn’t fought in four years. But Trump reportedly loves the idea of McGregor’s “fiery energy.”
“This is the kind of thing Trump eats up — flash, controversy, and global attention,” said political analyst Maria Velasquez. “It’s less about celebrating America and more about keeping Trump’s name trending worldwide.”
UFC boss and longtime Trump ally Dana White called the proposed event “the greatest fight card in the history of this company.” Speaking after UFC 320 in Nevada, White said he’d start assembling fighters by February — though he admitted McGregor’s participation “isn’t set in stone yet.”
White also revealed that the South Lawn grass would have to be torn up and replaced after the brawl — a project estimated to cost up to $700,000.
“Trump doesn’t care,” one White House insider told Politico. “He said if it looks good on TV, it’s worth every penny.”
Democrats are calling the move an insult to the presidency. Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) blasted the plan as “an obscene misuse of public property for personal glorification.”
“This isn’t patriotism — it’s pandemonium,” Raskin said. “The White House is not a coliseum, and America deserves better than this political bloodsport.”
Environmental watchdogs are also fuming about potential damage to the historic lawn. “It’s beyond tacky — it’s destructive,” said Sierra Club spokesperson Dawn McIntyre. “We’re turning the people’s house into a literal fighting pit.”
Trump’s fascination with combat sports dates back decades. When the UFC was still struggling for legitimacy, he offered his Atlantic City casinos as venues. Since then, he’s appeared at countless fights, often basking in the chants of “U-S-A!”
In 2024, his close relationship with White and other UFC stars helped him rally younger male voters — a demographic key to his political comeback.
“He sees UFC as a metaphor for his brand: no rules, no apologies, and lots of blood,” said one former campaign advisor. “It’s pure Trump.”
Trump’s 79th birthday was marked by a multimillion-dollar military parade through Washington to celebrate the Army’s 250th anniversary — and it didn’t go as planned. Despite Trump calling it a “tremendous success,” massive anti-Trump “No Kings” protests dwarfed the turnout.
“Trump wanted tanks and intimidation,” said biographer Michael Wolff. “What he got was a festive parade with balloons and brass bands. He was livid — he thought it looked soft.”
As the country braces for its 250th anniversary, Trump appears eager to make the moment about himself — once again.
“Everything Trump does is a performance,” Velasquez added. “He doesn’t want to lead America into its next chapter — he wants to headline it.”
Whether the UFC event actually happens or collapses under its own chaos, one thing’s clear: Donald Trump’s 80th birthday will not be a quiet one.
Or, as one exhausted White House aide put it: “God help the Rose Garden — and the rest of us.”

So what? He is a sports fan like so many others are. He is supporting the sports he is interested in. The only thing that is \”trashy\” is your snotty remark.
Won’t be attending… but he can do whatever he wants…
pansy man seeks manliness, not from a bottle, but from other men.

My! My! The Dems are getting so upset because President Trump has chosen to celebrate his 80th birthday in a manner they think is unacceptable! Well, during the last administration, we saw some actions at the White House the Republicans weren’t so happy about; especially seeing a Gay Pride flag flown alongside our United States flag! I am sure if any damage is done to the White House lawn, it will be rectified the next day. President Trump works day and night to bring peace to this world and he is doing a tremendous job! So would you Dems, please start worrying about your Blue cities where it is so dangerous, people are afraid
to visit! We need peace in our country and around the world🙏
You are delusional! And the mention of the Gay Pride flag being flown next to the American flag shows your ignorance and uneducated banter! God help you if you have a gay child! or maybe god help them if you did! The fact that Trump’s administration, led by a Jewish Nazi, is ripping people who simply look like they are immigrants, off the streets is both horrendous and despicable. These people don’t even need the yellow star taped to their sleeves to be identified and deported, they just look “bad” according to the Ice idiots. You were sold a bill of goods and you bought the bs. We were told criminals and illegals were being deported….tell me please how little babies and children are dangerous to be ripped from thier homes in the middle of the night is AMERICAN????
No such thing as a gay child or gay baby… homosexuality addiction mental illness is just another addiction that weak, poorly raised people succumb to… like trans addiction… drug addiction…
.
Illegals are CRIMINALS! They broke the law coming here/staying here without permission! Any other crimes they add to that just make them worse criminals/murderers…
