Trump Declares Democrats are the ‘Party of Satan’ in Bizarre Rant

President Donald Trump plunged even deeper into inflammatory theatrics Thursday night, branding Democrats “the party of hate, evil, and Satan” in an unhinged online tirade as the government shutdown entered its second day.

The outburst, delivered on his struggling Truth Social platform, underscored Trump’s reliance on insults, conspiracy-tinged memes, and AI-generated videos in place of governing during a budget standoff that has furloughed thousands of federal workers.

Instead of negotiating, Trump flooded his feed with a barrage of AI creations. One post—already drawing widespread outrage—depicted Democrats Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer beneath the caption: “The Democratic Party is Dead! They have no leadership, no message, no hope!”

Trump then escalated, reposting one of his old “favorites” that labeled Democrats outright as “the party of hate, evil, and Satan.”

“This isn’t just childish—it’s dangerous,” Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) told reporters Friday. “At a moment when families are missing paychecks and veterans are waiting on benefits, the President is spending his time doctoring memes instead of doing his job.”

The president’s AI video spree has taken on a darker, racist edge. Just days earlier, he circulated a manipulated clip showing Jeffries in a sombrero and fake mustache while mariachi music blared. Civil rights groups slammed the post as “blatant race-baiting.”

“It’s not parody—it’s propaganda,” said Rashad Robinson, president of Color of Change. “This is the oldest trick in the Trump playbook: dehumanize your opponents, distract from your failures, and divide the country.”

Even some Republicans privately cringed. Speaker Mike Johnson, caught in a Capitol hallway, admitted the videos were “not my style” but refused to condemn the President outright.

The Trump White House insists Democrats caused the crisis by adding health-care protections to a short-term funding bill, branding it the “Democrat Shutdown.” But Democrats counter that Republicans simply walked away from negotiations for weeks.

“The truth is Republicans never wanted a deal,” Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin said Thursday. “They wanted chaos, because chaos is Trump’s comfort zone.”

As the shutdown drags on, Trump’s memes may keep his base entertained—but for millions of Americans now facing delayed checks, shuttered services, and mounting uncertainty, the spectacle feels like a cruel joke.
