A routine Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrest in San Diego has unexpectedly set MAGA social media ablaze — not because of the suspect, but because of an anonymous ICE officer whose photo has gone viral, racking up nearly 30 million views and thousands of replies.

The ICE San Diego account posted the image Sunday, showing the arrest of 42-year-old Diego Hernandez, who the agency claims is an undocumented immigrant with multiple DUI convictions and several illegal re-entries into the U.S.

“Our priority is public safety,” ICE wrote in the caption. “He chose to break our laws again and again. He will remain in custody pending removal.”

But it wasn’t Hernandez — nor his ironic “South Park” T-shirt reading “Whatever! I do what I want!” — that caught the internet’s attention. Instead, it was the female ICE agent in the frame, back to the camera, who ignited a storm of memes, jokes, and, yes, thirst tweets.

“Yooo, what’s the number for Agent Dumptruck?” one viral comment read, spawning the nickname that has since dominated X.

Another joked: “I am also an illegal alien who commits crimes,” while a third chimed in: “That ICE agent’s got more cake than Hostess.”

Other users joined in with memes and parody scenarios. “If I renounce my citizenship, does that mean they’ll send her… to my house? Asking for a friend,” one post read, already retweeted over 150,000 times.

Not everyone is laughing. Immigration advocates and critics of the Trump administration argue that the viral moment is a deliberate distraction from what they call “extreme deportation policies.”

Now, conservatives are capitalizing on the viral ICE agent, while progressives accuse the administration of manufacturing online distractions to avoid talking about record-high deportation numbers and ongoing court battles over asylum restrictions.

For now, “Agent Dumptruck” continues to trend, with hashtags like #FederalAsset and #DeportMeDaddy dominating X. But beneath the humor, immigration advocates warn that the Trump administration is quietly reshaping the system.

“This is not just about a photo,” said Jiménez. “It’s about a government turning lives upside down while distracting us with memes.”
