Ex–Intel Chief says Gabbard’s accusations against Obama are fiction — and dangerous
In a stunning rebuke, a former top CIA officer is accusing Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard of lying to the American public in an effort to rewrite the truth about Russian interference in the 2016 election — and to shield President Trump from accountability.
Susan Miller, a decorated CIA veteran who helped compile the original Mueller investigation, fired back after Gabbard publicly accused former President Barack Obama of orchestrating a “treasonous conspiracy” to frame Trump.
“She’s not just wrong — she’s knowingly spreading falsehoods,” Miller told CNN on Friday. “The Russians interfered in our election to help Donald Trump. That’s not opinion. That’s intelligence.”
Miller, who has served nine overseas tours and led the CIA’s counterintelligence operations, was part of the elite team tasked with analyzing Russian interference back in 2019. She says the evidence was overwhelming — and clear.
“We had high-confidence assessments that Russia’s goal was to get Trump elected,” she said. “Nobody told us what to conclude. We followed the data. Period.”
Last week, Gabbard released a controversial report alleging the Obama administration “fabricated” intelligence to damage Trump. The DNI called it a “deep state operation” designed to sway public opinion against the president. She followed the report with a series of cryptic infographics on social media, amplifying far-right talking points and sowing doubt on long-settled findings.
Standing next to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, Gabbard accused Obama officials of “weaponizing the intelligence community against a presidential candidate.”
But intelligence experts — even former Trump-appointed ones — have warned that Gabbard’s claims are not only baseless, but reckless.
“She’s dragging the intelligence community through the mud to score political points,” Miller said. “And it’s disgraceful.”
Gabbard’s conspiracy theory flies in the face of not one, but two major bipartisan investigations. The 2019 Mueller Report and the 2020 Senate Intelligence Committee report — which had Republican leadership — both concluded that Russia interfered in the 2016 election to benefit Donald Trump.
The Senate report described Russia’s activities as “a comprehensive, multi-pronged campaign” designed to sow chaos and help Trump win.
“Gabbard’s report doesn’t just contradict the facts. It insults every career intelligence officer who worked to protect our democracy,” said Miller.
Former President Obama issued a rare statement denouncing the DNI’s allegations as “malicious nonsense,” calling her conduct “unworthy of the office.”
But Gabbard, once a Democrat and now one of the most loyal faces in Trump’s national security apparatus, isn’t backing down. When pressed by reporters this week on the lack of evidence in her report, she shot back:
“The real disservice is ignoring the truth. This country deserves to know what really happened.”
Miller, who remains in contact with several members of the original Mueller team, says she’s had enough of the gaslighting.
“If anyone tried to influence our findings, we would’ve resigned on the spot,” she said. “But no one did. Because the truth was — and is — undeniable.”
“Now we’re being told that truth itself is treasonous? This is Orwellian. This is Trump’s America.”
As Trump’s second term barrels forward, critics warn that the administration is trying to rewrite history — and undermine the institutions that once investigated it.
“This isn’t just about 2016 anymore,” said Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), who has called for a congressional review of Gabbard’s conduct. “It’s about whether facts still matter in a democracy. Or whether they can be deleted and replaced with propaganda.”
The White House has not responded to repeated requests for comment on Miller’s statements.
But the message from career intel officers is loud and clear: The facts haven’t changed. Only the political pressure has.
“The Russians interfered. Trump benefited. We reported it. That’s it,” Miller said. “If Tulsi Gabbard wants to ignore that — she’s not doing her job. She’s doing Trump’s.”

CLICKBAIT !!! NOT a “top CIA official” but a FIRED BUM !
The Deep State strikes again. You cannot trust anybody associated with witch hunts of 2015-2025.
Of course the deep state will rebuke any claims they were at fault.
No surprise, guess shiffty was a straight shooter too! Or Brennan, or Comey, or the myriad of bad actors who couldn’t fathom losing their dominion of power over our failing country.
She’s just their latest attempt to rule the fake news they have always owned.
Ex-CIA official in Obama”s pocket!
Of course a deep stater say this because of. Purse Obama could do no wrong! After all he’s a democrat and got elected based on identity politics, as he never really did anything else in his life but he’s perfect!
since when has the cia ever told us the truth about anything. They were the ones behind kennedy being shot in my opinion, hell they probably had something to do with Trump being shot at. If there ever were a group of known liars with more than shady backgrounds and mostly pot stirrers with evil intentions ,it would be called CIA and only reason it’s called CIA is because FBI was already full of corrupt people and it was taken. Hopefully the new FBI director will put the FBI back in respectful status and can gain credit with its actions of taking care of business and locking up these corrupt politicians that are trying to undermine our Republic. Notice to all readers .WE ARE NOT A DEMOCRACY,WE ARE AND ALWAYS HAVE BEEN A REPUBLIC .QUIT SAYING ITS ABOUT OUR DEMOCRACY. WE ARE A REPUBLIC.
I agree 100%…I firmly believ
Don’t think so.Sent from my iPhone
