In the middle of President Donald Trump’s chaotic second term, there’s one family storyline raising more eyebrows than usual inside the gilded halls of Mar-a-Lago and now possibly even the White House: Donald Trump Jr. may be headed toward marriage again — this time to a 38-year-old Palm Beach socialite with a reputation that has insiders on edge.

Sources close to the president’s oldest son say Don Jr., 47, is “deeply smitten” with girlfriend Bettina Anderson, whose sudden presence at Trump family events — and increasing public visibility — has fueled speculation about her motives. “If he proposed tomorrow, she’d say yes in a heartbeat,” said one insider. “And she wants kids. She wants a life with him — all of it.”

But not everyone’s buying the love story.

Anderson’s party-girl past in Palm Beach society has reportedly put members of the Trump inner circle on high alert. “There’s real concern she’s not in this for the right reasons,” one longtime family acquaintance told us. “She’s smart, calculated, and knows exactly what a Trump ring means — power, influence, and a lifetime pass into the elite.”

The unease reportedly intensified when Anderson attended the family’s Christmas gathering at Mar-a-Lago in late 2024. “It was one thing when she showed up in Palm Beach, but now she’s being welcomed into political events like she’s part of the inner circle. It’s risky optics with Trump back in office,” the source said.

Accusations that Anderson is using Don Jr. as a “stepping stone to bigger fish” have swirled for months, with critics pointing to her strategically curated Instagram, complete with Bible quotes and designer labels, as a case study in social climbing.

In response to backlash, Anderson posted a now-viral quote from Exodus 14:14 on her Instagram Story: “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” A cryptic message, but one read by many as a veiled swipe at the Trump family critics who have questioned her sincerity.

“She’s trying to portray herself as the calm in the storm,” noted one social media analyst. “But to a lot of people, it just reads as passive-aggressive defiance.”

Despite the mounting skepticism, Don Jr. remains defiant. Friends say he’s captivated by Anderson’s “calm confidence,” and that she gets along well with his five children — Kai, 18; Donald III, 16; Tristan, 13; Spencer, 12; and Chloe, 11 — whom he shares with ex-wife Vanessa Trump.

“She’s polite, sweet, and lets him do his thing,” a friend said. “He calls her gorgeous and smart in front of everyone. They hold hands, they kiss, and he’s a total gentleman with her.”

But one former White House staffer put it more bluntly: “It’s not about chemistry. It’s about calculation. And everyone knows Don Jr. has always had a blind spot for the wrong women.”

The potential engagement marks a dramatic shift from Don Jr.’s previous high-profile relationship with former Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle, who is now serving as the U.S. ambassador to Greece under President Trump.

“That chapter’s closed,” said a family friend. “Kimberly got her promotion, and Don’s moved on. But the question now is — has he moved up or been played?”

With Donald Trump back in the Oval Office and his family once again under intense scrutiny, the last thing the administration needs is a public embarrassment tied to a family engagement gone wrong. Yet that may be exactly what’s brewing.

“She wants the Trump name. And she’s doing everything right to get it,” one longtime Mar-a-Lago member warned. “But the Trump brand is already on shaky ground. If this implodes, it won’t be quietly.”

Stay tuned. The Trump family drama isn’t just alive — it’s getting personal.
