Musk breaks ranks with Trump, reignites fury over the missing Epstein client list — and directly implicates the president.

In a fiery social media blitz Wednesday, Elon Musk lit a political match under President Donald Trump’s claims that the Jeffrey Epstein scandal is nothing more than a partisan “hoax.” And this time, Musk didn’t hold back.

“Wow, amazing that Epstein ‘killed himself’ and Ghislaine is in federal prison for a hoax,” Musk wrote on X, referencing Ghislaine Maxwell’s 2022 conviction for sex trafficking on Epstein’s behalf.

The post, which went viral within minutes, reopened one of the darkest and most unresolved chapters in America’s political history — one that Trump and his allies have desperately tried to bury.

Just a year ago, Musk and Trump were famously close. Now, the billionaire tech mogul is one of the few conservatives openly blasting the president over what he calls a blatant cover-up of Epstein’s powerful client network.

“Not a single Epstein client has been prosecuted,” Musk continued. “Not even one.”

Over the course of just 65 minutes on Wednesday, Musk fired off 13 Epstein-related posts — most of them targeting Trump’s contradictory messaging, or amplifying critics calling out the administration’s silence on the case.

The renewed firestorm comes days after a leaked memo from the Department of Justice confirmed what many feared: the so-called Epstein “client list” may never see the light of day.

That list, which Attorney General Pam Bondi claimed earlier this year was “on her desk,” has become a political hot potato. The White House now insists that no such list exists — a claim directly contradicted by multiple whistleblower reports.

Musk wasn’t buying it.

“So many powerful people want that list suppressed,” he replied to one user. “Trump said he’d release it. Instead, he’s blaming Democrats and gaslighting his own voters.”

The scandal is a brutal flashback to the 1990s and early 2000s, when Trump and Epstein were frequently seen together in New York and Palm Beach. Audio obtained by The Daily Beast last year revealed Epstein once referred to Trump as his “closest friend.”

The two were photographed together multiple times — including at a 1997 Victoria’s Secret Angels event — and allegedly shared connections to models, private jets, and Palm Beach real estate.

While Trump has claimed for years he “barely knew” Epstein, those photos — and the mounting insider leaks — tell a different story.

Last month, Musk made an even bolder claim: “Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files,” he posted. “That is the real reason they have not been made public.”

The White House dismissed the statement as “false and defamatory.” Musk later deleted the post, but his pivot this week suggests he’s not done pushing for answers.

“Mark this post for the future,” Musk added. “The truth will come out.”

Even longtime Trump allies are starting to break ranks. Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones called the Epstein situation a “trainwreck.” Some MAGA supporters have begun burning their red hats in protest. The base, once unwavering, is visibly rattled.

“Trump’s team hyped the release. Trump’s team fumbled the release,” posted political influencer Kaizen Asiedu. “Now he’s blaming the Democrats and insulting his own base.”

Musk responded sharply: “The old strategy — 1. Admit nothing. 2. Deny everything. 3. Make counterclaims. But it won’t work this time.”

Musk has hinted at launching a new political party — one that would challenge both Republicans and Democrats from the outside. His recent moves seem calculated to peel off frustrated voters who feel Trump has betrayed their trust.

And as the 2026 midterms loom, Democrats see an opening.

“It’s not just about Epstein anymore,” said Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA). “It’s about power, corruption, and truth. The American people deserve all three.”

Whether Musk keeps up the pressure or not, one thing is clear: the Epstein scandal is far from buried — and now it’s Donald Trump who can’t escape its shadow.
