The Epstein scandal is roaring back into the headlines—and this time, it’s knocking directly on the doors of Donald Trump’s White House.
CNN’s Harry Enten, one of the network’s top data analysts, dropped a bombshell Friday, revealing that “Epstein” has been Googled over 1,200 percent more this week than last. That’s not just a viral moment—it’s a political crisis. Enten called it a “massive, unforced error by the Trump administration,” and he’s not alone.
Despite Trump once calling Epstein a “great guy” and “close friend” back in the late ’90s, the president has spent years trying to sever ties with the disgraced sex trafficker, who died under suspicious circumstances in 2019 while awaiting federal trial. Now, his administration is under fire for failing to live up to a key campaign promise: transparency on the Epstein case.
“This is not going away,” Enten said. “In fact, it’s exploding—and it’s self-inflicted.”
The controversy erupted again after Attorney General Pam Bondi—who once claimed to have Epstein’s “client list” sitting on her desk—now says no such list exists. The DOJ has backed her up, claiming a full review of Epstein’s files turned up no names to release.
The American public isn’t buying it. Prediction markets like Kalshi, which once placed the odds of Trump declassifying Epstein-related documents at 50 percent, now peg it at a dismal 20 percent.
Meanwhile, social media has turned hostile. Even Trump’s former allies are turning on him. Elon Musk, far-right podcaster Alex Jones, and even Steve Bannon have blasted the White House for going silent.
“We were promised the truth,” one former MAGA supporter wrote on X. “Where is it?”
President Trump hasn’t helped matters. During a Cabinet meeting this week, he snapped at a reporter who dared to bring up Epstein’s name.
“Are you still talking about Jeffrey Epstein?” Trump barked. “We’ve got real issues—Texas, China—and you people keep talking about this creep?”
But data shows Americans are talking about Epstein—more than they’re talking about tariffs, immigration, or even the economy this week. “People want answers, and they’re not getting them,” Enten said.
Attorney General Pam Bondi, 59, is facing sharp backlash after walking back her February promise. “There is no client list,” she said this week—contradicting her own words just months ago.
Democratic lawmakers are now pushing for a congressional inquiry into Epstein records. “If the Trump White House won’t give us the truth, we’ll get it ourselves,” said Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. “The American people deserve transparency.”
Trump has long used conspiracy theories to stoke his base. But now, critics say he’s being buried by one of his own making.
“What goes around comes around,” Enten warned. “You can’t sell your voters the fantasy of justice and then run from it.”
As the pressure mounts, the question remains: Will Trump release the files—or will the Epstein scandal finally break the man who once claimed to “drain the swamp”?

Epstein lawyer has already stated President Trump was never involved and his roommate said the democrats wanted Epstein to lie and say Trump was involved and Epstein wouldn’t do it.
