Tensions in the Middle East surged again this week after Israeli forces confirmed the assassination of a senior Hamas mastermind—and Iran wasted no time turning its fury toward President Donald Trump.

In a stark seven-word rebuke, Iran’s foreign minister slammed Trump as “Daddy” to Israel, warning, “We never allow anyone else our destiny.” The jab came after news broke that Hamas commander Hakham Muhammad Issa Al-Issa—one of the architects of the devastating October 7 attacks—had been killed in a precision airstrike on Gaza City.

Al-Issa wasn’t just a field commander. He was a founding leader of Hamas’ military wing and widely credited as one of the primary strategists behind the deadly assault that left more than 1,200 Israelis dead last fall. Israeli officials say he helped coordinate air and sea attacks, trained militants, and planned the October rampage with chilling precision.

“He wasn’t just a planner. He was a symbol of Hamas’ military brain trust,” said Gadi Elkin, a former Israeli intelligence officer. “Taking him out is a major blow.”

The IDF confirmed the strike hit a residential area in the Sabra neighborhood. Palestinian sources reported that Al-Issa’s wife and grandson were also killed, though those details have not yet been independently verified.

While Israel celebrated the strike as a critical victory in its ongoing war with Hamas, Iran lashed out, suggesting that the West—especially Trump—bears responsibility for fueling the region’s instability.

Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s foreign minister and longtime critic of U.S. foreign policy, issued a biting statement on national television, saying: “The Israeli regime had no choice but to run to ‘Daddy’ Trump to avoid being flattened by our missiles.”

His comments marked a rare direct insult aimed at the president and appeared to be a response to Trump’s past efforts to forge peace deals between Israel and Arab states while isolating Iran.

The October 7 attacks—widely described as Israel’s 9/11—shattered any illusions of stability in the region. Hamas militants crossed into Israeli territory, killing civilians in their homes, capturing hostages, and prompting a full-scale war that has now lasted nearly nine months.

Al-Issa, according to Israeli intelligence, was the “strategic brain” behind the operation. “He designed the battlefield, trained the killers, and picked the targets,” said one IDF spokesperson.

The death of Al-Issa follows another high-profile assassination last week, when Israeli warplanes eliminated Ali Saadi Wasfi al-Agha, a rising figure in the Palestinian Mujahideen Movement who was allegedly next in line to lead operations.

In a statement posted to social media, the IDF declared, “We will continue to locate and eliminate all terrorists involved in the October 7 massacre.”

Though President Biden has backed Israel’s right to defend itself, his administration has also pushed for restraint and humanitarian protections amid growing criticism from progressive lawmakers and human rights groups.

Meanwhile, Trump—who has stayed vocal on social media—has called for a “stronger response” to Iranian threats but stopped short of outlining a clear Middle East strategy. That silence hasn’t gone unnoticed in Tehran.

“This is a message to Trump and everyone who dares interfere with the destiny of our region,” said Iranian commentator Reza Shariati on state media. “We won’t be dictated to.”

With the West cheering Israel’s success, and Iran signaling it’s not backing down, the risk of a broader regional conflict remains dangerously real.

As one former U.S. diplomat put it: “One wrong move now could light the whole region on fire.”

  1. Ya… Ya… Ya… Trump is trying to settle the warmongering Muslim Jews and warmongering Hasidic Jews down… but they love mass murdering each other… have for past 1500 years… just because of slight difference in their evil religion…

    1. Your assessment is like a surgeon looking at your feet to determine if you need a heart transplant. Good luck on surviving your assessment;.

      1. While the feet may be a factor in the need for a heart transplant, to rely on that single point of interest is to make a monumental error of judgment that could end badly, even in the death of the patient.

  2. Why does people escalating wars feel the need to kill anyone who oppose them? Does removing certain people just because they don’t like their evil murdering leader and want to get along with others? Obama and Biden created this mess. Democrats funded these so called leaders. Anyone who can kill their own along with enemies is plain and simple evil. Sounds like democrats and Fauci. All I can say to these people is go someone safe and let the bombing begin again to rid your country of evil.
    God please help the innocent.
