For the first time since taking the papal throne, American-born Pope Leo XIV is openly confronting President Donald Trump’s war strategy—delivering a searing rebuke of the latest U.S. military strike on Iran.

Leo’s message was clear: “War does not solve problems; on the contrary, it amplifies them and inflicts deep wounds on the history of peoples, which take generations to heal.
