The White House is on high alert after President Donald Trump revealed he’d instructed his team to “obliterate” Iran in the event of any assassination attempt—an order made months before the United States launched strikes against Iran’s nuclear sites.

According to Oval Office insiders, Trump privately issued the order in February after federal prosecutors unsealed details of a shocking plot allegedly orchestrated by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard to kill him. The foiled plan targeted Trump as he campaigned for a political comeback—just days after he edged out Kamala Harris in a bitterly contested election.

“If they did that, they would be obliterated. That would be the end. I’ve left instructions,” Trump said, doubling down on his stance to reporters. “If they do it, they get obliterated. There won’t be anything left.”

The Department of Justice indicted three men over the plot, alleging that an Afghan national was tasked by Tehran to stalk Trump during the election cycle. Federal investigators say the plotters were told to strike before the vote—if possible—or wait until after, when Trump would be more vulnerable.

This chilling plot follows a series of attempts on Trump’s life in the past year, including a near-fatal incident in Pennsylvania and another at his West Palm Beach golf course. The U.S. intelligence community had repeatedly warned Trump that Iran could be seeking payback for his order to assassinate Qasem Soleimani, the notorious commander of Iran’s elite Quds Force, in 2020.

“Trump may have signed Soleimani’s death warrant, but he also painted a target on his own back,” said former CIA officer Valerie Plame. “The risks aren’t just overseas. If Iran is willing to operate in the U.S., it’s a whole new ballgame.”

Israel is pushing the narrative even further. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appeared on Fox News to amplify the threat, calling Trump “enemy number one” for Iran. “He killed Qasem Soleimani. He’s said, ‘You cannot have a nuclear weapon,’ and he’s been forceful. For them, he’s enemy number one,” Netanyahu insisted.

The rhetoric has fueled bipartisan anxiety on Capitol Hill, especially as tensions between Israel and Iran continue to escalate, pulling the United States deeper into another Middle East conflict.

The alleged Iranian plot has even become a flashpoint for Republican infighting. In a viral interview, Fox host Tucker Carlson grilled Senator Ted Cruz over whether the U.S. should retaliate against Tehran.

“Do we believe that they’re trying to murder Trump?” Carlson asked. Cruz didn’t hesitate: “Yes, I do.” But when pressed on military action, Cruz waffled, dismissing Iran as “a weak country on its knees.” The tense exchange left many Americans wondering if the GOP is more interested in political theater than protecting national security.

While Iran’s government denies any involvement, U.S. officials and Israeli leaders remain on edge. Trump’s executive order calls for “maximum pressure”—sanctions, covert operations, and a muscular military response to any aggression from Iran or its proxies.

National security expert Juliette Kayyem says Americans have a right to be concerned: “Trump’s scorched-earth posture could push us to the brink of a war nobody wants. At a time when our allies are nervous and democracy itself feels fragile, reckless threats only make us less safe.”

The threat against Trump isn’t just a personal vendetta—it’s a stark warning that U.S. democracy remains vulnerable to foreign interference and violent retribution. As the president and his team dig in, the world watches, hoping that America’s next move won’t spark a global catastrophe.

  1. Trump couldn’t notify Congress beforehand of the attack since half of Congress loves Iran and hates our USA. Most Democrats and Bernie Sanders started crying and reacting like it was their home that was bombed.
Yesterday I was posting that if Iran attacks our military bases in retaliation, that every city in Iran would be obliterated within 24 hours as we have the FORCES necessary already in the region now.
