President Donald Trump lashed out at a Bloomberg reporter over the weekend when pressed on the growing economic chaos caused by his sweeping new tariffs — tariffs that have already wiped out over $2 trillion in American market value in just days.

As Trump fielded questions from the press aboard Air Force One, Bloomberg’s Annmarie Hordern asked whether the economic pain inflicted by the new import tariffs might reach a breaking point.

“I think your question is so stupid,” Trump barked, interrupting her mid-sentence.

What followed was a tirade more focused on blaming past presidents than offering economic clarity.

“We had stupid leadership that allowed this to happen,” Trump said. “Sometimes you have to take medicine to fix something.”

No apology. No explanation. Just insults.

When Hordern tried to circle back to the question moments later, Trump cut her off again:

“Who you with?” he demanded. When she replied “Bloomberg,” he dismissed her: “Another question, please. She asks too many questions.”

The moment — caught on camera and widely shared on social media — quickly drew fire from journalists and economists alike.

“It’s not just condescending, it’s dangerous,” said former Obama economic adviser Austan Goolsbee. “We’re talking about policies that are damaging global markets, and he’s treating it like a reality TV soundbite.”

Markets Plunge, Trump Dodges

Trump’s so-called “Liberation Day Tariffs” — a blanket increase on imports from China, the EU, and several U.S. allies — have ignited fears of a full-scale trade war.

According to Bloomberg, the S&P 500 dropped 10.5% in just two trading days following the announcement. Analysts warn another 5% drop is likely when markets reopen Monday.

“Over $2 trillion in wealth vanished in less than 48 hours,” said economist Sarah Kendricks of Brookings. “That’s not a patriotic stand. That’s economic arson.”

Despite the chaos, Trump brushed aside concerns and insisted the tariffs are working.

“They’re dying to make a deal,” he said of U.S. allies. “Unless we solve [the trade deficit], I’m not going to make a deal.”

He also blamed China for stalling a proposed TikTok divestment deal, claiming they would have approved it “in 15 minutes” had he softened tariffs.

“That just shows the power of tariffs,” Trump said, without offering evidence.

Behind the Bluster: What’s Really at Stake

Trump’s tariffs come at a time when the U.S. economy is already teetering from high interest rates and persistent inflation. Analysts say these sweeping import taxes will likely raise consumer prices further, especially on electronics, vehicles, and basic goods.

Critics also point to the president’s pattern of demonizing the press when pressed on policy — a strategy that’s become familiar during moments of crisis.

“When things get tough, he punches down,” said Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD). “He’s not leading. He’s lashing out.”

Meanwhile, world leaders are signaling retaliation. European Union officials have already hinted at counter-tariffs on U.S. agricultural exports, while Beijing has suspended negotiations on rare earth mineral exports — a move that could cripple U.S. tech production.

Bottom Line: Economic Storm, Presidential Denial

Trump’s tariff crusade is roiling global markets, alienating allies, and escalating tensions — but rather than offer solutions, the president is mocking journalists and shifting blame.

As Wall Street braces for another turbulent week, Americans are left with the question: How much more “medicine” can the economy take — and who’s really paying the price?

WOW, all of that! Yet no mention of the previous four-year reign of error that was the Joe Bribem administration.

    Potlicker media, no surprises here.
