Randy Fine, a Republican state senator from Florida and self-proclaimed “Hebrew Hammer,” ignited controversy on Tuesday with a pointed message aimed at Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), the only two Muslim women in Congress.
“Maybe they should consider leaving before I get there,” Fine wrote, sparking outrage from critics who interpreted the comment as a veiled threat. His words were accompanied by the hashtag “#BombsAway,” adding fuel to an already explosive political landscape.

Fine is vying to replace Rep. Mike Waltz (R-FL), who will step down from his seat in Florida’s 6th Congressional District to join President-elect Donald Trump’s administration as national security adviser. Trump has already thrown his weight behind Fine, endorsing him in the upcoming race.
Fine’s incendiary rhetoric aligns with his staunchly pro-Israel stance, a position he has not been shy about flaunting, especially as the Israel-Hamas conflict continues to claim lives. His opponents, Omar and Tlaib, have been vocal critics of Israel’s military actions in Gaza, frequently calling for a ceasefire.
Local reports estimate that 44,000 people have died in the conflict, with the United Nations indicating that approximately 70% of the casualties are women and children.
This is far from the first time Fine has sparked controversy with inflammatory remarks about Muslims. Earlier this year, he referred to Palestinian worshippers as “Muslim occupiers” while praising Israeli forces who stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque, a sacred site in Jerusalem.
In a separate incident, Fine accused President Joe Biden of employing “Muslim terrorists” in the White House, specifically targeting Maher Bitar, a Palestinian-American who previously worked as a diplomat and UN official. Fine has also labeled Biden as “Jihad Joe,” despite the president’s substantial military aid to Israel.
“Anyone who doesn’t fear American Muslims is a fool,” Fine declared in a 2023 interview, doubling down on his controversial views.
Fine’s combative behavior isn’t limited to social media. In October, a Florida judge found him in contempt of court for making obscene gestures during a virtual hearing. Court records show Fine flipping the middle finger and mouthing expletives at the judge.
Adding to the spectacle, Fine wore a campaign t-shirt during the hearing, which was connected to a case where a political opponent sought to have him removed from a GOP leadership race. The case was ultimately dismissed, but Fine’s antics made headlines.
The message directed at Omar and Tlaib has raised concerns about the growing hostility in American politics, particularly toward minority representatives. Omar, born in Somalia, and Tlaib, the first Palestinian-American woman in Congress, have faced numerous death threats and hostile rhetoric throughout their tenures.
Both lawmakers have yet to respond directly to Fine’s tweet, but sources close to their offices describe heightened security concerns.
Political analysts warn that such rhetoric not only deepens divisions but could also incite violence. “We’re seeing a dangerous escalation,” said political commentator James Albright. “When elected officials make statements like this, it emboldens extremist elements.”
As Fine’s campaign gains momentum with Trump’s backing, many wonder if this aggressive rhetoric is the new norm—or if it marks a turning point in America’s political discourse.

The man makes a lousy American!! I sicken me that he was elected to any office!! This is a nation made up of many people from other lands and many creeds!!! His anti-Muslim views are also, by definition, ANTI-AMERICAN. He needs to be censured by Congress. His comments are right up there with the deceased Sen. McCarthy in terms of their disgusting lack of understanding of what the USA stands for!! Is it the northern water that causes some up there to be so unAmericamn? Dr. Schlatter
