Jason Kelce’s visit to Penn State for ESPN’s College GameDay quickly took a dark turn when a rowdy crowd trailed the retired NFL center, some looking for a casual fist bump, others hurling jeers.
In a viral video posted to X (formerly known as Twitter), one heckler crossed the line, throwing a homophobic slur Kelce’s way in a reference to his brother’s relationship with Taylor Swift.
“Kelce, how does it feel that your brother is a f—-t for dating Taylor Swift?” the heckler taunted, a remark that seemed to push Kelce over the edge.
Without missing a beat, Kelce turned, snatched the phone from a nearby onlooker, and forcefully hurled it to the ground. A moment later, he picked up the shattered phone, briefly inspected it, and resumed his walk, seemingly unfazed.

The incident remains murky—it’s unclear if the phone Kelce destroyed belonged to the same individual who made the offensive remark. However, Kelce’s reaction has sparked intense debate online, with some calling his response justified, while others deem it extreme.
Campus police reportedly have not received an incident report about the altercation, leaving many wondering if any official action will follow.
Jason Kelce, a recent retiree from the NFL after an illustrious career as a center for the Philadelphia Eagles, has been an outspoken supporter of his brother Travis’s high-profile romance with Taylor Swift.
When news of the relationship broke, Jason was quick to share his thoughts publicly, saying, “We just want to be supportive of him and their relationship and everything that they’ve got going on because it’s so wonderful right now.” True to his word, Jason has been spotted at Swift concerts, quietly cheering on the pair.
Aside from his support for Travis, Kelce remains busy. Alongside his brother, he co-hosts the popular New Heights podcast, which just inked a massive $100 million deal with Amazon for ad-sales and distribution.
As the Kelce brothers’ star power continues to grow—both on the field and off—the pressures and perks of fame seem to follow them everywhere, even through the winding paths of college campuses.
