The fair can be a nice distraction from everyday life, with rides that provide thrills and fun. Some fairgoers went with those intentions to the fair, but unfortunately, they were stuck in the air due to extreme weather changes.
At the Six Flags theme park in Mexico City, the weather ran rampant as high-speed winds and downpours of rain caused rides to be shut down.
Unfortunately, a group of riders were stuck 200 feet in the air, “trembling in fear.”
The call to shut down the rides came from the top, as the weather made the rides unsafe.
Those on the Supergirl Sky Flight, a ride that spins at 40 miles per hour and ascends to 200 feet in the air, were left terrified as the ride stopped.
One of the ridegoers was recording the scenes atop the flight.
“It started raining, and we got stuck up on the Supergirl ride. I couldn’t tell if I was trembling from fear,” the video from the rider said.
The ride was only supposed to last about 2 minutes, but the riders were stuck up there for an uncertain time.
Operators eventually initiated a gradual descent, ensuring all riders’ safe exit. Local reports stated that the attraction remained closed until the skies cleared.
There were thunderstorms in the city as the weather grew in intensity.
Six Flags has 42 parks across the United States, Mexico, and Canada, as well as thrilling roller coasters, family rides for children and their parents, petting zoos, and water parks.
The Supergirl ride is already scary enough for those afraid of heights, but the 24 stories high ride becomes even more extreme with fog.
Those people are daring enough to experience the thrill.
“I would have enjoyed it quite a bit haha. One of those things that happens to you once,” a commenter said under the TikTok video.
