A 20-year-old male is accused of stealing a forklift from a Lowe’s store and using it to run over a 73-year-old woman at a Home Depot parking lot in Waldorf, Maryland.
Bryce Caleb Timothy Brown has been charged by the Charles County Sheriff’s Office with first- and second-degree murder, assault, theft, and other connected offenses. Early on Sunday morning, the horrific incident occurred, frightening the neighborhood and sparking an ongoing inquiry.
Officers went to a suspected burglary that was allegedly taking place at the Lowe’s store on Crain Highway at around 12:40 in the morning. The suspect had already left the scene when they arrived. Brown is thought to have broken into the company, stolen a forklift, and then driven it forcibly through the back gates before traveling about half a mile north to the Home Depot parking lot, according to the authorities.
Brown is accused of ramming a parked car with the stolen forklift in the Home Depot parking lot. Sadly, the 73-year-old Waldorf resident Gloristine Pinkney was inside the parked automobile at the time of the crash. Pinkney got out of the car and tried to run, but Brown allegedly chased her down with the forklift and ran her over.
Police officers searched the area and found Pinkney’s lifeless body underneath the forklift. Sadly, she was declared dead on the spot. According to the findings of the investigation, Brown and Pinkney had no prior relationship, indicating that this act of violence was random. After the altercation, Brown is said to have driven off in Pinkney’s automobile.
Brown was quickly recognized by authorities as the main suspect, and later that day, in the evening, they found him at his home. Without incident, he was taken into custody, and Pinkney’s car was discovered close by. In order to await future legal proceedings, Brown is presently being held without bond at the Charles County Detention Facility.
Investigators are trying to identify any potential motives or elements that may have influenced the suspect’s actions as they probe deeper into the events surrounding this horrific crime. The Charles County Sheriff’s Office is carrying out a thorough investigation to guarantee that justice is done and to provide Pinkney’s grieving family and the community some answers.
The senseless death of Gloristine Pinkney has shocked and devastated the Waldorf community. During this trying time, friends, family, and neighbors are banding together to support one another. The terrible event serves as a reminder of the value of vigilante behavior and the requirement for public education in the face of unforeseen acts of violence.
