MAGA TV Star Melts Down Over Education ‘Conspiracy’

Kelsey Grammer is once again stepping out of sitcom nostalgia and straight into MAGA culture-war territory.

The Frasier star and longtime Trump supporter unloaded on America’s education system in a new podcast interview with conservative commentator Katie Miller, accusing schools of deliberately teaching children to dislike their own country.

In a clip previewed by TMZ, Grammer claimed that U.S. schools are not merely falling short, but intentionally pushing students to believe America is a “crap country.” The actor argued that children are being damaged by lessons that acknowledge the nation’s historical failures, injustices, and darker chapters.

“They don’t like the idea that we are a great country,” Grammer said of U.S. teachers. “Something in our education system decided to think that we aren’t and to teach our children that.”

Grammer, 71, suggested that students trust their teachers so deeply that criticism of the country can shake their entire sense of identity.

“If you were learning that from your teachers, we believe our teachers,” he said. “And if they say things like, ‘You come from a crap country,’ well, you start to think, ‘Well, maybe they’re right. I wonder why I come from a crap place.’”

The actor then took the argument even further, claiming that students may begin questioning whether they, their parents, and their families are “good” people simply because they are taught that America has flaws.

“So you end up searching your soul for why you’re not a good person,” Grammer continued. “Why you aren’t good anymore. Why our country isn’t good. So that means mom and dad aren’t very good either, are they? And there’s a whole series of questions that come into it.”

Grammer’s comments came during an interview with Katie Miller, the conservative podcaster married to White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller. The exchange quickly drew attention because of the actor’s dramatic framing of classroom criticism as something far more sinister than a disagreement over curriculum.

At one point, Grammer described teachers criticizing America as “basically child abuse” and called it part of a “plot.”

“It’s not a theory,” he said. “It’s a conspiracy. Someone conspired to introduce the idea that we aren’t a good country through our educational system.”

Grammer has also co-founded The American Revelation, an educational nonprofit that says it wants to help Americans “explore and celebrate” the nation’s history, founding principles, and values. The group’s website promotes content and experiences centered on American history, including daily videos from Grammer tied to the country’s 250-year story.

The actor has framed the project as a response to what he sees as a damaging version of U.S. history being taught in schools. Critics, however, are likely to see his remarks as another example of the right’s long-running crusade against educators who teach students about slavery, racism, inequality, and other uncomfortable but essential parts of the American story.

Grammer has become increasingly open about his conservative politics in recent years. He has praised Donald Trump as “one of the greatest presidents we’ve ever had” and has repeatedly complained that being a Republican in Hollywood has hurt his career.

He has also floated the idea of running for political office, saying last month that he would consider it as a form of public service.

“I would consider it,” Grammer said of a possible campaign. “It would possibly tick that box for me, in terms of the service I feel I should have given to my fellow man — to my fellow countrymen — that I missed in the military. Maybe that would be the way to do it. I have wrestled with it.”

For now, Grammer appears to be channeling that political ambition into a full-blown battle over classrooms, patriotism, and who gets to define American history.

But his latest remarks are already fueling backlash from critics who argue that teaching students the full story of America is not an attack on the country — it is the bare minimum of an honest education.
