A Bravo reality star is finally spilling a little tea about one of the strangest pop culture footnotes in MAGA world.

Summer House star Carl Radke says he was advised to keep quiet about conservative activist Erika Kirk’s brief and awkward appearance on the hit Bravo series before she became a recognizable figure on the right.

Kirk, who appeared on the show under her maiden name Erika Frantzve, popped up during Season 3 for a short-lived double date storyline. Years later, her cameo has taken on a bizarre second life because of her ties to the late Charlie Kirk and the political machine surrounding Turning Point USA.

Now, Radke is admitting that the whole situation has become too politically loaded to casually joke about.

“I remember it all. I didn’t know she was ‘Erika Kirk.’ She wasn’t with [Charlie] then,” Radke told Variety after Summer House’s dramatic Season 10 reunion. “She was doing stuff in New York. I met her and her brunette friend, who was on the double date as well. [Erika] wanted me to date the friend, and I said she should take a look at my friend, Jordan. We did that whole thing, they went on a date or two…”

Then came the eyebrow-raising part.

“The whole thing is kind of insane,” Radke said. “I’ve been advised to not really talk about it because it doesn’t have to deal with me. But all roads lead to Bravo.”

The remark immediately raised questions about why anyone would need to tread carefully over a reality TV cameo that aired years before Kirk became connected to one of the most influential conservative organizations in the country.

Before her name became tied to MAGA politics, Erika appeared on Summer House in 2018, where she was set up with cast member Jordan Verroi. The date was awkward, heavily edited for reality TV drama, and framed around Verroi’s religious values and alleged lack of sexual experience.

In one confessional from the episode, Radke explained why he thought Erika might be a good match for Jordan.

“Jordan’s probably a virgin. So I’m setting him up with my friend, Erika. She’s beautiful, and she happens to be religious,” Radke said at the time. “Jordan, if you don’t take this to the next level, God help you.”

The date itself did not exactly scream romance.

During the episode, Jordan told Erika he wanted to date someone who shared his religious beliefs. Erika responded, “It’s tough to be a believer in the city. I think you’re a bright light in a very dark place.”

The pair later walked off after Jordan suggested they “grab a mojito.”

In a confessional, Jordan praised Erika’s looks and personality, saying she had “beautiful blonde hair” and “radiance.”

“Her smile, her radiance, I can tell that she’s not only got outer beauty, but inner beauty,” he said. “That’s what I’m looking for in a woman.”

The short appearance might have faded into forgotten Bravo history if Erika’s life had not taken a sharp political turn.

She later became closely tied to Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA and a dominant force in the modern conservative youth movement. Erika met Charlie in 2018, the same year her Summer House cameo aired. The couple got engaged in 2020 and married in 2021. They went on to have two children together.

In 2019, Erika claimed on Instagram that she had been offered a chance to become a full-time Summer House cast member but turned it down to pursue a juris master’s degree in American Legal Studies from Liberty University.

That decision may have kept her off Bravo, but it did not keep her out of the spotlight.

Years later, her blink-and-you-missed-it reality TV appearance has resurfaced as a strange reminder that the line between entertainment, influencer culture and right-wing politics is thinner than many people realize.

For Radke, though, the message seems clear: this is one Bravo throwback he has been told not to dig into too deeply.
