MAGA Melts Down After Obama Does the Trump’s Job (Video)

Conservatives online erupted into full-blown outrage after former President Barack Obama received a warm public welcome from Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney during a visit to Toronto — with some MAGA figures bizarrely accusing Obama of acting like the “real president.”

The online meltdown exploded Thursday after Carney posted a smiling video greeting Obama upon his arrival in Canada, writing: “Welcome back to Canada, President @BarackObama.”

That simple gesture was enough to send some of Trump’s most loyal supporters into a frenzy.

Far-right activist Laura Loomer immediately lashed out on X, demanding to know why Obama was “meeting with world leaders while President Trump is in office.”

“This is a coup,” Loomer dramatically declared.

The outrage only escalated from there.

Conservative influencer Nick Sortor and other MAGA personalities started accusing Obama of violating the Logan Act — a rarely used federal law that bars private citizens from conducting unauthorized negotiations with foreign governments during disputes with the United States.

There was just one major problem with the theory: Obama was not negotiating anything.

The former president was in Toronto to deliver a keynote speech at a Canadian think tank, something ex-presidents from both parties routinely do after leaving office. Former commanders-in-chief are also commonly referred to as “President” long after their terms end as a courtesy title.

That did not stop angry Trump supporters from flooding social media with demands to “lock him up.”

“Obama needs to sit down and figure out his freaking place before his a– ends up in prison,” Sortor raged online, while other users falsely insisted the visit somehow proved Obama was still secretly running the country.

One furious commenter even tagged Donald Trump and warned: “This should worry the U.S. a little.”

The political firestorm comes at an awkward moment for Trump, whose relationship with Canada has grown increasingly tense.

Last year, Carney publicly pushed back after Trump floated the idea of Canada becoming America’s “51st state,” bluntly saying the country was “not for sale.” Trump later complained at the World Economic Forum that “Canada lives because of the United States,” fueling even more backlash north of the border.

Obama’s appearance in Canada also reignited Trump-world resentment toward the former president, who has recently stepped back into the political spotlight amid growing concerns about Trump’s second term.

In an interview with The New Yorker earlier this week, Obama admitted current events had dragged him back into politics “more than I would have preferred.”

Trump, meanwhile, has continued attacking Obama publicly. Earlier this year, the president acknowledged approving a controversial Truth Social post containing racist imagery targeting Barack and Michelle Obama, though he later claimed he did not notice the offensive depiction.

As the social media chaos spiraled, critics mocked the MAGA outrage as another example of conservatives losing control anytime Obama appears on the world stage — especially when he receives the kind of international reception Trump often struggles to get.
