A tense scene unfolded outside the White House on Thursday after a man allegedly tried to breach a secured area, triggering a rapid Secret Service response while President Donald Trump was inside the complex, according to multiple reports.

Authorities said the man was detained after jumping a vehicle barrier near the Treasury Building and getting into a physical confrontation with officers near a pedestrian gate.

Witnesses described a sudden burst of chaos as agents swarmed the area and brought the man to the ground before he could get any farther. The dramatic takedown quickly drew attention as security locked in around one of the most heavily guarded buildings in the country.

Officials said one officer suffered a cut during the struggle, and both the officer and the suspect were taken to a hospital for evaluation. The suspect’s identity had not been publicly released in the initial reports.

The frightening episode is the latest in a string of security scares tied to the White House perimeter, a location that has seen repeated intrusion attempts over the years despite layers of fencing and round-the-clock protection.

After the incident, the immediate area was cleared, though a heightened security presence remained in place.
