Talk about timing! Mary Trump, the ever-outspoken niece of President Donald Trump, just revealed she secretly tied the knot last year — and she did it on the same day her infamous uncle was sworn in for his second term.
In a personal update on her Substack, the 60-year-old psychologist and author announced that she married her longtime girlfriend back in October in a private ceremony. “I am married not only to the love of my life but to my best friend,” Mary wrote, adding that the low-key wedding was held “in front of a small group of some of our family and closest friends.”
So why the big reveal now? Mary says she waited to share the news until “the nation calms down,” hinting that recent political turmoil played a role in her silence.
The date of her first meeting with her now-wife? January 20, 2025 — the day her uncle reclaimed the Oval Office. Ironic much?
And while Mary didn’t name her spouse, she did gush about their love story, saying it opened her heart and brought deeper connection to others in her life. “I am happy in a way I never would have dared imagine,” she wrote.
As usual, she couldn’t resist a jab at the current state of politics: “The first eleven days of 2026 represent an escalation of the horrors we experienced as a country… It is more important than ever to remember there is always light and hope and love.”
This isn’t Mary’s first headline-making moment, of course. The daughter of Fred Trump Jr. famously wrote Too Much and Never Enough in 2020 — a scorched-earth memoir that portrayed Donald as everything from a conman to a cheater. She even claimed he paid someone to take his SATs and ditched his dying brother for a night at the movies.
Oh, and remember that viral moment when Donald snapped “Quiet, piggy” at a reporter? Mary didn’t hold back: “The only pig in the scenario is Donald — but actual pigs are intelligent and affectionate.”
Needless to say, Mary probably won’t be invited to any Trump family barbecues.

Mary Trump has said all kinds of harsh things about her uncle in the past and I\’m sure Mark thinks she\’s just great for doing that! So just saw this headline and that\’s all I needed to see to confirm that she is not someone I would believe on many levels… She\’s clearly biased against men and of course she has made it clear that she despises her uncle, etc. Seems so many psychologists are \”not right\” and she seems emblematic of that, you know?
