President Donald Trump nearly blew the lid off a classified government decision — and it all happened in front of stunned aides, lobbyists, and law enforcement officials inside the Oval Office.

According to multiple witnesses, the 79-year-old president was seconds away from leaking his administration’s long-awaited plan to reclassify marijuana when staffers shouted for him to stop.

“It was wild,” recalled Florida Sheriff Gordon Smith, one of the few outsiders in the room. “He had his phone out, ready to post. They had to yell, ‘Mr. President, you can’t!’ I was in awe of the whole thing.”

The meeting — described by one attendee as “two hours of shouting, lobbying, and Trump being Trump” — brought together MAGA power players, cannabis industry giants, and law enforcement advocates.

Trump, who’s been toying with federal drug reform since his return to office, reportedly announced mid-conversation that he’d decided to move marijuana from Schedule I to Schedule III — a massive policy shift that would soften decades of federal restrictions.

Before aides could even draft the paperwork, Trump reached for his phone to break the news himself.

“He hates waiting,” said another source. “The man lives for that Truth Social moment. But this time, it was about to be a national security mess.”

Insiders say the president’s impulsive move set off a panic. Lawyers and top aides, including Deputy Chief of Staff James Blair and policy adviser Heidi Overton, shouted over one another trying to halt him.

“Sir, there’s a 30-day clearance process!” one staffer reportedly yelled. “You can’t just post this!”

House Speaker Mike Johnson, who had been resisting the marijuana change from the start, later called the near-leak “reckless,” warning that it could “send the wrong message” to Trump’s conservative base.

Meanwhile, cannabis titan Kim Rivers — the CEO of Trulieve and a longtime Trump donor — looked on nervously. Rivers and Florida businessman Howard Kessler had lobbied hard to win Trump’s support, promising economic growth and medical breakthroughs if the reclassification went through.

“She’d just gotten what she wanted,” said one attendee, “and suddenly it looked like he might blow it with one post.”

After several tense minutes, Trump reportedly sighed, slipped the phone into his jacket, and ordered aides to draft the formal executive order instead.

“He said something like, ‘Fine, fine — we’ll do it your way,’” a witness told the Wall Street Journal. “Then he told everyone to clear the room.”

The administration officially confirmed the marijuana reclassification on December 18 — two weeks after the explosive Oval Office showdown.

Still, the near-leak has reignited familiar questions about Trump’s unpredictable governing style.

“He’s his own communications director,” joked one senior staffer. “If you don’t grab that phone in time, he’ll tell the whole country what’s next before anyone’s signed the paperwork.”

The White House declined to comment on the incident, but insiders admit it was “pure Trump — dramatic, defiant, and unstoppable.”
