Donald Trump went off on one of his strangest tangents yet during the U.S. Navy’s 250th anniversary celebration — and the internet’s convinced it’s another worrying sign about his health.

The 79-year-old president, speaking in Norfolk, Virginia, started rambling about stairs, Joe Biden, and his own odds of falling one day. “The chances of him walking down those stairs successfully were not good,” Trump said, mocking Biden. “And I have to be careful because one day I’m gonna probably fall.”

That odd moment set social media ablaze, with many viewers calling the speech another example of Trump’s “mental decline.” One X user posted, “Donald Trump is rambling on about stairs at the Navy’s 250th. This is what dementia looks like.” Another added, “This is twice in a week he’s talked about falling — maybe his doctor warned him.”

In true Trump fashion, he doubled down — bragging that former White House doctor Ronny Jackson once declared him the fittest of recent presidents. “They asked, ‘Who’s the healthiest? The strongest? The best physical specimen?’” Trump recalled. “He said, ‘That’s easy — President Donald Trump.’ I said, ‘I love this guy.’”

Despite the bravado, reports have long circulated that Trump has been dealing with swelling in his ankles and struggles with balance — something that’s fueled growing speculation about dementia among critics and mental health experts.

Psychotherapist Dr. John Gartner has even claimed “there is absolutely no doubt” the president shows signs of cognitive decline, citing his frequent “ramblings” and “confabulations” about unrelated topics like “sharks, batteries, and Hannibal Lecter.”

It’s not the first time Trump’s had issues with steps. Last month, a supposedly “faulty” escalator at the United Nations headquarters stopped mid-ride while Trump and Melania were on it — prompting Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt to accuse the UN of pulling a prank. “If someone intentionally stopped the escalator, they need to be fired,” she fumed online.

Days later, Trump was at it again, telling a room of military officials, “When I walk downstairs… I walk very slowly. You don’t have to set any records. Just try not to fall.”

Between the “slow-stairs” speeches, the ankle rumors, and online chatter, it’s no wonder Vice President JD Vance’s name keeps surfacing. The 41-year-old recently told reporters he’s been getting “a lot of good on-the-job training” — a comment many interpreted as him quietly preparing for something more.

  3. I can’t say what I would like to say because I fear being pushed for it and it would not be good for me to say

  4. Nonsense, all of us over 79 have those moments. Lack of balance also comes with age. Being someone that my doctors say, that I’m in the top 5% physically age wise and I have similar problems
