Barack and Michelle Obama marked a major milestone on Friday, celebrating 33 years of marriage with heartfelt anniversary posts that quickly melted hearts online.

The former president and first lady each shared the same photo of themselves on X — posting within a minute of each other.

“The best decision I ever made was marrying you, @MichelleObama,” Barack wrote. “For 33 years, I’ve admired your strength, grace, and determination — and the fact that you look so good doing it all. Happy anniversary!”

Michelle responded with her own loving tribute: “We’ve been on quite the journey over the last 33 years — and yet, I love you even more today than the day we said ‘I do.’ Happy anniversary, @BarackObama! I’m so lucky to go through life with you.”

The Obamas, who first met at a Chicago law firm in 1989 when Michelle was assigned to mentor Barack during his summer internship, have long shared glimpses of their relationship on social media. Last year, they posted similar tributes for their 31st anniversary, with Barack calling his wife “brilliant, kind, funny and beautiful,” while Michelle wrote about her joy in going through life by his side.

In a recent podcast chat with her brother Craig Robinson, Michelle recalled her first impressions of her husband-to-be, admitting his voice won her over even before they met in person. “The first sparky kind of feeling I felt actually was when I talked to him on the phone, and he had his Barack Obama voice,” she joked.

Now parents to two daughters, Malia, 27, and Sasha, 24, the former first couple remains one of America’s most admired pairs — with fans quick to celebrate their love story along with them.

    1. Every marriage has it’s ups and downs but the ones that remain in love with each other can always endure.

I love this couple and pray that they can conquer any hardships with love and laughter.

To the haters…why do you make up lies to justify your hatred?

  1. Who cares. They’re the people who destroyed this country. I have been married for 52 years and little or not we are people of faith who have done a lot for friends and family. We don’t need to publish our accomplishments because we only have to answer to one person GOD.

  2. My husband and I just celebrated our 65th Anniversary.
Now that is something to celebrate. We have two daughters, each who have gone through college and excelled in their careers. The eldest was married until her spouse passed away. She took care of him and was the breadwinner at the same time!
The younger one has been married for 40 years.
I believe you have a long way to go and a lot to speak to the Lord about!

  3. Good people the country needs some love right now. With armies running the streets very sad and it’s really not how many years you have been married it’s how the marriage works

    1. You’re depressed by our Military in the streets reducing crime? But don’t mind the Democrat junkies murdering 75 people daily plus 10s of millions of other daily crimes?
