Fans Slam NFL Coach for Being ‘Aggressive’ Towards Female Reporter (Video)

Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson sparked controversy with NFL fans after a tense halftime interview during Sunday’s matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Bears were trailing 14-9 when CBS sideline reporter Aditi Kinkhabwala asked Johnson about the team’s offensive struggles. Johnson cut in quickly: “They haven’t done anything, you’re right.” When pressed on what he told his players to turn things around, Johnson replied, “That wasn’t our brand of football. We’re capable of a lot more and so we’re hitting the reset button here at halftime and we’re going to come back and establish our identity here in the second half.”

When Kinkhabwala followed up, asking if he needed to change his strategy, Johnson locked eyes with her in a long, icy stare before shooting back, “I don’t know. You think so? We’re going to be just fine.”

The uncomfortable exchange didn’t sit well with viewers. Fans blasted Johnson on social media, with one calling his behavior “absolutely immature” and another saying he was “completely out of line.” CBS announcers even remarked on what they described as a “menacing stare” that came off as intimidating.

But whatever was said in the locker room worked. The Bears stormed back to beat the Raiders 25-24, with cornerback Josh Blackwell blocking a last-minute 54-yard field goal attempt by Daniel Carlson to seal the win. The victory not only evened Chicago’s record at 2-2, but also secured their place in NFL history as just the second franchise to notch 800 regular-season wins, joining rival Green Bay Packers.

NFL analyst Chase Daniel shrugged off the interview drama, framing it as a turning point. “And this is the moment where the Bears turned it around! Huge road win…Ben Johnson is changing the culture there,” he wrote after the game.

Johnson, who took over as head coach this offseason, heads into the bye week with his team at .500. The Bears return October 13 for a Monday Night Football clash with the Washington Commanders — this time on ESPN, meaning no immediate reunion with Kinkhabwala.
