A bizarre viral video has set Washington abuzz after showing unidentified objects being hurled from an upper-floor window of the White House — and no one in the Trump administration is explaining what’s going on.
The clip, first posted anonymously to the Instagram account Washingtonian Problems, shows a figure repeatedly tossing several items from a high-level window believed to be connected to the White House solarium — a private family room perched atop the South Portico, historically used by First Families.
In the 14-second clip, a shadowy figure can be seen approaching the window three separate times, each time discarding something different onto the lawn below. The video’s caption — “Doing some deep Sunday cleaning?” — has done little to calm the speculation.

By Monday night, the footage exploded across X, TikTok, and Instagram, drawing millions of views and sparking conspiracy theories. “What the hell is going on?” the account Republicans Against Trump posted on X alongside the clip.
Patriot Takes, a watchdog group that tracks right-wing extremism, chimed in with a blunt question: “Is anyone going to explain this?”
The Trump White House has yet to comment, and the lack of an official statement has only fueled online chatter. “We’ve covered this building for decades,” said NBC political analyst Maria Peña. “This is one of the strangest things I’ve seen during any administration.”
Sources familiar with the White House layout confirm that the window appears to belong to a private area reserved for the president’s family. However, it’s unclear if Donald Trump or any family members were present when the video was taken.
The video arrives amid a wave of odd headlines surrounding the president. Just last week, unfounded rumors spread online that Donald Trump had died after he disappeared from public view for four straight days.
He resurfaced Saturday at one of his Virginia golf courses, posting on Truth Social: “Never felt better! FAKE NEWS is at it again.”
On Tuesday afternoon, Trump is expected to make a surprise announcement from the White House press room, though officials have not confirmed the topic.
This isn’t the first time Trump’s actions at the White House have sparked intrigue. Just last month, the president was photographed wandering the rooftop of the West Wing. When pressed by reporters about rumored construction plans, Trump quipped, “Missiles. Nuclear missiles,” before walking away, leaving journalists stunned.
Under Trump’s second term, the White House has already undergone several controversial renovations, including paving over parts of the Rose Garden, installing massive American flags across both lawns, and floating plans for a Mar-a-Lago-inspired ballroom.
Speculation online ranges from the absurd to the alarming. Some claim the objects tossed from the window were personal belongings amid a family dispute. Others allege documents may have been discarded — though there’s no evidence supporting that theory.
“This feels like an episode of The Apprentice: White House Edition,” one user wrote. Another joked, “Is this how classified documents get declassified now?”
For now, the video remains unverified, but Washington insiders say pressure is mounting on the Trump administration to explain what Americans witnessed on one of the most closely guarded properties in the nation.
