Washington, D.C. may be the epicenter of power under President Donald Trump’s second term, but for one high-profile MAGA insider, it’s apparently a dating desert.

Natalie Winters, a 24-year-old co-host on Steve Bannon’s War Room and one of the right’s rising stars, says the capital is filled with ambitious men — but almost none of them are interested in women.

“I had a lot of girlfriends who wanted to move here,” Winters said on a recent episode of the War Room podcast. “They thought the dating scene would be amazing — that MAGA would bring in this whole wave of eligible, conservative, smart, enterprising men.”

Instead, Winters sighed, “everybody’s freaking gay.”

Winters, who graduated from the University of Chicago and was hired as an intern by Steve Bannon while still in high school, has quickly become one of the most visible young women in Trump’s media orbit. But behind the fiery rhetoric and polished appearances, she admits that her personal life has taken a backseat.

In an interview earlier this year with The Times of London, she doubled down on her complaint, saying, “I think most men are gay in D.C. — either out or closeted depending on whether they’re Democrats or Republicans.”

Winters even joked that her professional life was forcing her into a role she never wanted: “I want to marry someone who allows me to protect feminine energy in a world that is forcing me to be a girl boss because they keep sending Steve [Bannon] to prison.”

The irony, as critics point out, is that President Trump has embraced LGBTQ officials in a way few conservatives expected. His appointment of Scott Bessent as treasury secretary earlier this year made him the highest-ranking openly gay official in U.S. history.

A recent New York Times profile described a growing circle of high-powered gay men inside Trump’s Washington — nicknamed the “A-Gays.” Among them are pollster Tony Fabrizio, former ambassador Richard Grenell, Department of Energy official Charles Moran, and State Department under secretary Jacob Helberg.

“We’re like Visa,” Moran told the Times. “Everywhere you want to be.”

For MAGA women hoping to find love within their own ranks, that presents a dilemma.

According to a May 2025 Pew Research Center survey, 80% of LGBTQ adults identify as Democrats, while only 16% lean Republican.

“It’s not just D.C.,” said Dr. Carla Stephens, a sociologist at Georgetown University. “Conservative women who move here expecting to find ‘traditional’ relationships are often surprised by the city’s demographics. D.C. has one of the highest concentrations of openly LGBTQ residents in the country.”

Winters hasn’t publicly responded to growing social media criticism accusing her of stereotyping the city’s dating pool. But on X, formerly Twitter, she posted a laughing emoji alongside a screenshot of The New York Times covering her remarks, captioned simply: “Me in @nytimes 🤣”.

For now, it seems, Washington’s power brokers — gay or straight — remain focused on policy, not romance.

  1. Unattractive magas (inside and out) … are not wanted anywhere. Unfortunately, just the simple truth …

    1. This ad should get her more calls than she can answer… much better looking than the diseased dying Democrat junkies…

  2. Want a real man, look for a Texas cowboy! They treat women with respect and stand up for themselves and their women!

  3. It may be that the straight men in DC are interested in women, but not interested in her. Smart straight men are well aware that there are many different types of women, and perhaps she isn’t their type for most of the ones she has met. I don’t know where she is seeking these men, so maybe looking elsewhere would help.
