California Governor Gavin Newsom has once again managed to get under Fox News’ skin — this time by selling his own $100 “Patriot Bible” as part of a cheeky, Trump-baiting merch campaign that has conservatives fuming.
On Monday’s episode of The Will Cain Show, the Fox News host went into full meltdown mode, blasting Newsom for “copying” Donald Trump’s merchandising playbook while using it to mock the president.
“He’s not even original,” Cain raged. “He’s borrowing from President Trump, copying his style, and now he’s selling his own MAGA-style merch. He thinks this trolling is clever, but it’s just pathetic.”
Newsom, however, seems to be relishing every ounce of Republican outrage. Moments after Cain’s rant, the governor fired back directly on X (formerly Twitter):
“Thank you for the promotion of our FANTASTIC Patriot Shop, @WillCainShow!!!!!”
For months, Newsom has deployed an aggressive, meme-heavy strategy aimed squarely at rattling Trump and his allies. His online campaign blends AI-generated memes, sarcastic posts, and eye-popping merchandise that lampoons Trump’s personality and his political brand.
Among the top sellers in Newsom’s Patriot Shop:
- A “Newsom Was Right About Everything” hat
- A “Newsom 2026” mug
- A T-shirt showing Newsom glowing in heavenly light surrounded by “MAGA angels” — including Tucker Carlson, Hulk Hogan, and Kid Rock
- A tank top boldly declaring, “Trump Is Not Hot”
- And now, the pièce de résistance: a $100 “Patriot Bible”
The Bible, which quickly sold out, is seen as a direct shot at Trump’s controversial decision to hawk his own “God Bless the USA” Bibles during the 2024 campaign season — a move that earned Trump more than $300,000 in royalties.
In 2024, Trump partnered with country singer Lee Greenwood to sell Bibles inspired by Greenwood’s famous anthem “God Bless the USA.” The MAGA-endorsed scripture retailed for $60, included the U.S. Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Declaration of Independence, and even offered a $1,000 signed edition.
One limited-edition $70 version bore the chilling inscription:
“The Day God Intervened / July 13, 2024”
— a reference to the failed assassination attempt on Trump in Pennsylvania.
While Trump’s Bibles became a hit with his base, they sparked backlash among faith leaders. Reverend Benjamin Cremer told CNN at the time:
“It is a bankrupt Christianity that sees a demagogue co-opting our faith and even our holy scriptures for power — and praises him for it.”
Newsom’s decision to parody Trump’s merchandising juggernaut — right down to launching his own “Patriot Bible” — appears to have struck a nerve inside MAGA world.
Cain isn’t alone. Last week, Fox News anchor Dana Perino begged Newsom’s wife to “make him stop,” while Sean Hannity accused the California governor of “performative confrontation that wins points with the loony radical base.”
Trace Gallagher called Newsom’s antics “childish.”
But Newsom isn’t backing down. His press office even mocked Trump directly last week after the president blasted him on Truth Social, posting nothing but three snowflake emojis in response.
Though Newsom insists he’s not running for president, his relentless campaign of memes, merch, and mockery has fueled speculation he’s laying groundwork for a 2028 Democratic run.
Political strategist Maria Ramirez told MSNBC:
“What Newsom is doing isn’t just trolling. He’s crafting a cultural counter-narrative to Trumpism — one that highlights the absurdity of MAGA politics by mirroring it back.”
Meanwhile, Trump continues to portray himself as California’s “savior” despite polls showing his support in the state remains abysmally low.
“Gavin Newscum is destroying the once Great State of California,” Trump fumed on Truth Social last week. “I will save California!!! President DJT.”
What began as a clever merch rollout has morphed into a political sideshow. Newsom’s Patriot Shop is trolling MAGA hard — and it’s working.
By parodying Trump’s culture-war branding and leaning into meme politics, Newsom has successfully hijacked the conversation, sending Fox News hosts — and the president himself — into full-blown defensive mode.
The $100 Bible isn’t just merch. It’s a political statement. And in Trump’s America, that may make it priceless.

The Newsom bible was never for sale. It went up on the site as “Sold Out”. I hope he had the other merch made in the USA. All of Trump’s crap that he sells is made in China.
