As the Trump administration reels from internal leaks, high-level firings, and mounting pressure over still-secret Epstein files, one of its most controversial appointees is facing bipartisan heat over a new, eyebrow-raising accusation.

At the prestigious Aspen Security Forum on Friday, Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA), vice chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, delivered a stunning rebuke of Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, labeling her “not competent” and accusing her of actively endangering national security.

Tulsi Gabbard is not competent to be the director of national intelligence,” Warner told moderator Peter Baker in front of an audience of diplomats, lawmakers, and journalists. “She is politicizing the intelligence community. And that makes America less safe.

Warner’s harsh words came just before Gabbard released a bombshell “report” claiming that the Obama administration orchestrated what she called a “treasonous conspiracy” to delegitimize President Trump’s 2016 victory by pushing false narratives of Russian election interference.

“Their goal was to subvert the will of the American people and enact what was essentially a years-long coup,” Gabbard wrote in a statement shared on X, formerly Twitter. “I’ve turned this report over to the Department of Justice for criminal prosecution.”

Despite the explosive language, Gabbard offered little new evidence — and critics on both sides of the aisle weren’t impressed.

Warner wasn’t alone in his skepticism. He cited the Senate Intelligence Committee’s own years-long investigation, which confirmed that the Russian government “directed extensive activity against U.S. election infrastructure.”

This conclusion was unanimous,” Warner emphasized. “Every Democrat. Every Republican. We all saw the same facts. The intelligence was clear — Russia interfered.

Online, Gabbard’s “Obama coup” theory was even met with derision from some MAGA-aligned users.

“Wasn’t this proven in the Mueller investigation and made public years ago?” wrote one Trump supporter under Gabbard’s post. “Love the distraction though.”

Veteran political commentator Keith Olbermann took a more cutting approach, referring to Gabbard as “Skunk Hair” in a blistering X post:

“Dear Skunk Hair,” he wrote, “nobody said Russia hacked our vote totals. It was their email jacking and propaganda campaigns to help your lord and master Trump. That’s what we meant by collusion. You’re not an asset. Just an ass.”

Gabbard, a former Democrat-turned-independent and Trump loyalist, has faced mounting criticism since being tapped as director of national intelligence in early 2025. Her appointment stunned the intelligence community, and insiders have since accused her of prioritizing loyalty over accuracy.

“Tulsi has brought chaos to an already fragile department,” one former NSA official told The Washington Sentinel. “It’s ideology over evidence.”

Adding to the controversy, Gabbard was recently named in the now-infamous SignalGate group chat — a text chain of top Trump allies where potential purges, including the firing of NSA Director Michael Rogers, were reportedly discussed.

While Gabbard insists no classified information was shared, Warner warned of déjà vu.

Last time we saw politicized intel like this, we ended up in Iraq,” Warner warned.

Gabbard’s deputy chief of staff, Alexa Henning, dismissed Warner’s criticism with a personal insult, calling the senator a “loser” on X and claiming he “fell for the debunked Russia hoax.”

While Gabbard’s allies double down, national security analysts worry that her rhetoric is part of a broader strategy to rewrite the narrative of Trump’s first presidency — just as Trump’s second term becomes mired in scandal and disarray.

With calls growing louder for the release of sealed Epstein files and a wave of resignations inside Trump’s cabinet, critics see Gabbard’s “Obama coup” report as a desperate smokescreen.

This isn’t about Obama. It’s about protecting Trump,” one Democratic strategist said. “And if Gabbard is the messenger, that says everything.”

  1. You democrats are truly the most pathetic human beings in the world. You instigate hell every chance you get and throw childish temper tantrums when your caught with your pants down. Grow up ,shut up and take your locks like an adult. Wawa babies.

  2. I appreciate the referral and the information that has shown there was knowledge from the start yet all of these people who were involved hid it and allowed tax payers to pay for a Mueller investigation costing millions of unnecessary expense to tax payers and the cost of all of the Trump Administration members who paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to defend themselves from lies. The Obama Administration members will now get the opportunity to be held to their own standards of holding people accountable for their actions guess we will see how the grand jury sees the evidence and what the outcome will be.

  3. The truth comes out about who the real nasty culprit is and now the excuses come out about who did and didn’t do it right comrade. You people are the cats ass you know that. And I’m sure the wicked witch of the East was knee deep in it as well.

  4. Warner needs to go. Wasn’t he married to LBJ’s daughter. One of the best liars the democratic communists ever had.
