In a surreal collision of politics, pop culture, and Photoshop, the Trump White House is facing new criticism after it posted a doctored image of President Donald Trump dressed as Superman — cape, muscles, and all — just days after conservatives lashed out at the new Superman movie for being too “woke.”

The official White House X account dropped the image late Thursday with the caption:
“THE SYMBOL OF HOPE. TRUTH. JUSTICE. THE AMERICAN WAY. SUPERMAN TRUMP.”

Within minutes, the internet exploded.

“Epstein files are his Kryptonite,” one user shot back. Another posted, “This country used to be serious. Now it’s a meme factory.”

The meme appears to be a direct response to the backlash among Trump-aligned media personalities who decried the new Superman film — directed by James Gunn — as part of a broader “liberal takeover” of American storytelling. Gunn stirred the pot by describing Superman as “an immigrant who came from other places and populated the country,” prompting fury from MAGA commentators who bristled at the word “immigrant.”

Fox News’ The Five jumped on the outrage train, with former Trump advisor Kellyanne Conway asking, “Why are we paying to be lectured at by Hollywood?”

But the meme’s reception wasn’t universally negative. Actor Dean Cain — who portrayed the Man of Steel in Lois & Clark and is a vocal Trump supporter — replied with a laughing emoji and said, “At least someone’s keeping Superman American.”

Still, critics say the White House’s use of taxpayer-funded platforms to spread fantasy-laden propaganda is deeply inappropriate.

“It’s one thing to campaign,” said Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD). “It’s another to run the federal government like it’s a comic book convention.”

This isn’t Trump’s first dip into digital fantasy. In May, the White House posted an AI-generated image of Trump dressed as the pope, days after the death of Pope Francis. That move sparked outrage among Catholic voters, some of whom warned it crossed a sacred line.

“This is worse than trolling,” one Catholic conservative wrote. “You’re turning faith into farce.”

Despite the controversy, the new Superman film is on track for a $200 million global debut, according to Deadline. Some industry insiders speculate that the meme frenzy may actually boost ticket sales — turning cultural warfare into free marketing.

Whether Trump sees himself as a hero or just enjoys the spotlight, one thing is clear: the White House’s meme machine isn’t slowing down.

And for millions of Americans, it’s starting to feel like reality itself is being rewritten — one absurd post at a time.

  1. Nobody in America has a sense of humor anymore! Especially liberals who are clinically known to be more depressed because everything outrages them!!!! Fo the research and you’ll see it’s true!! lol

Superman is supposed to be for

Truth, justice and the American Way

Not all this new woke nonsense but traditional family values, honesty and hard work and that’s where the country should be focused!

  2. Stop giving him the notoriety he craves.  Ignore him, as he feeds on all the publicity he can get.  When one receives nothing one has a tendency to give up.

  3. Are you all nuts. Why not do your job and get to the bottom of who is really doing this AI shit. Remember this crap could happen to one day when evil people do evil things.

  4. Love to see WOKE NextGen shocked by reality… at least Superman / Clark Kent was a genuine REFUGEE that had a JOB !!!
Another refugee is (Superman copy) Matthew Starr… although don’t know if ever got a job… but does stop crimes and foreign spies/enemies… maybe eventually paid a commission by the U.S. Govt… never made it back to save his planet… at least not yet…

  5. trump fancies himself in roles he CAN’T fill. just like the rocky meme last term. he’s a fraud. in ALL ways, except his greed, which shows daily.

  6. I think its a riot how all the left wingers and news media get there shorts in a bind when POTUS Trump meme’s himself (or someone else does).. I am laughing so hard. Humor is great, and to see the others have no sense of humor is pathetic. Sure beats 4 years of woke nonsense!
