Washington, D.C. — The Justice Department just torched one of MAGA world’s most explosive conspiracy theories—and Elon Musk isn’t taking it lightly.
In a stunning blow to years of speculation, the DOJ and FBI confirmed there is no “client list” of high-profile names tied to Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender who died in federal custody in 2019.
A bombshell internal memo obtained by Axios also revealed that federal investigators are preparing to release long-withheld surveillance footage they say proves Epstein took his own life.
The news has triggered an all-out revolt among right-wing influencers, with none louder than tech billionaire Elon Musk.
“What’s the time? Oh look, it’s no-one-has-been-arrested-o’clock again,” Musk wrote to his 221 million followers on X, mocking the lack of criminal charges tied to Epstein’s alleged elite sex-trafficking network.
Musk—who once suggested Trump himself might be in the documents—reposted a meme of a man putting on clown makeup, captioned: “There is no Epstein list.”
The outrage didn’t stop there.
Much of the fury has centered on Attorney General Pam Bondi, who, just months ago, assured Fox News that the Epstein “client list” was “on my desk right now to review.” Now, her office claims such a list doesn’t exist.
Conservative commentator Chad Prather, who was given early access to the DOJ’s Epstein files during a White House visit, slammed the reversal: “You handed us a notebook and promised more. Now you say it was never there? The American people were duped.”
Robby Starbuck added fuel to the fire, demanding clarity: “Was Pam Bondi lying then, or is she lying now? Either way, someone needs to be held accountable.”
Firebrand activist Laura Loomer didn’t hold back either, accusing Bondi of strategic timing: “Who drops an Epstein statement on July 4th weekend? Someone hoping no one’s paying attention.”
This eruption comes on the heels of a renewed feud between President Trump and Musk. Their alliance fractured after Musk criticized the president’s sprawling infrastructure proposal, calling it “government bloat.”
Trump fired back on Truth Social: “Musk is off the rails… Third parties only bring chaos—and we already have enough of that from the Radical Left.”
That jab followed Musk’s cryptic suggestion last month that Trump might appear in the sealed Epstein records, though no evidence has ever linked the president to Epstein’s crimes.
With Epstein’s longtime associate Ghislaine Maxwell already serving a 20-year sentence, and no further charges expected, the DOJ’s announcement may mark the official end of federal investigations into the case—despite public pressure for more transparency.
Federal officials insist the forthcoming footage will silence long-standing murder rumors, but for many in MAGA circles, the damage is already done.
“Americans were promised justice,” said Prather. “All we got was another cover-up.”
The DOJ and FBI declined to comment on the backlash.
Jeffrey Epstein died in August 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. His death was ruled a suicide, but inconsistencies in jail protocols and missing security footage fueled widespread doubts. Epstein’s ties to global power players—including Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew, and Donald Trump—spawned endless theories, though no high-profile figures have been charged in connection to his crimes.
Now, with the DOJ officially closing the door, it appears justice—for some—may never feel fully served.
