Truck Carrying Tank for Trump’s Parade Kills Pedestrian in D.C.

A truck hauling a massive Army tank from President Donald Trump’s highly publicized, multimillion-dollar military parade turned deadly Monday night when it fatally struck a woman in Washington, D.C.

According to police, the tragic incident unfolded just after 9:30 p.m. as the truck—part of a convoy moving an M1 Abrams tank from the Lincoln Memorial to a Maryland rail yard—plowed into a pedestrian near Constitution Avenue. The armored vehicle had just starred in Trump’s controversial birthday celebration parade days earlier.

First responders arrived within minutes. “We found an adult female, unconscious and not breathing, suffering from life-threatening injuries,” said police spokesperson Freddie Talbert. “Despite our best efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.” No military personnel were directly involved, and police say the truck driver showed no signs of criminal intent.

In D.C., protesters outnumbered parade-goers, with banners reading “No Kings in America” waving alongside tanks and marching bands. “Trump wants to show power with tanks—Americans are showing power in the streets,” said protest organizer Mike Green.
